The bright sun rose steadily over the moore. Cascades of pinks and reds fell on the dry land as light touched every corner. Rarely did Windclan get to experience such beauty in a morning. Two figures sat, their shadows stretched far by the rising sun, gazing up in wonder. The air was still and silent, no wind sturred their pelts. It was as if the very earth itself was mesmerized by the great ball of light. Hope and happiness filling their hearts to the brim, the brothers sat side by side neither moving or making a sound. Neither had an apprentice and, so far, neither had a mate. But change was in the air and Specklespot new his brother was soon to go on to bigger and better things than watching sunrises with him. Holding on to the old Whisperwind for as long was possible as all he could do now.
Whisperwind drank in his surroundings, savoring every minute. Specklespot usually looked at him mockingly when he woke up before the sun rose and began to leave the den. Always the spotted brother would awaken and ask exactly where in the name of Starclan was he going at such an ungodly hour. Always, Whisperwind would whisper, "To greet the day." And he would ask his brother to do so also. Most of the time Specklespot declined, preferring sleep over many things these days. But this morning, something sturred in the breast of the elder brother that made him get to his paws and crawl after Whisperwind into the dark.
"It is beautiful." Specklespot murmured, as if it had been a point of argument between the brothers. He ruffled his sandy-colored coat, flicking his darkly-tipped tail. "I know." Whisperwind said with a smile, pointing his pink nose up to the sky.

Nightclaw woke up suddenly and realized Whisperwind was no longer beside her. Mousedung! Nightclaw had wanted to get up early with him today. She silently crept out of the den, and purred when the sun greeted her dark pelt with warmth. She followed Whisperwind's scent out of the camp. Was Specklespot with him? Thats when she spotted the two brothers sitting side by side watching the sunset. She wanted so badly to press up against Whisperwind's soft pelt. She wanted so badly to feel the sparks, and the tingles from where they touched. But for now she would just watch. Two brothers sitting side by side, forgetting their worries for just long enough to watch the sunrise. Nightclaw loved Whisperwind very much, and she didn't dare disturb the peace. At least not yet. But soon. It hurt to be so close and not be touching. Nightclaw felt her heart bursting with happiness, hope, peace. She couldn't hold back any more and began to creep forward, taking her favorite spot by Whisperwind, feeling a shock that surprised her every time it happened, even though it happened most of the time, as their pelts touched. (((OOC: wow that was a long sentence...))) Nightclaw dared not to disturb the silence, and just continued watching the sunrise, with the two cats most important to her. Is Specklespot really that important to me? Nightclaw answered her question immediately. Yes. I guess so. Whisperwind has taught me to enjoy his company, I think. And it was true. By spending so much time with both brothers, Nightclaw had in fact grown fond of Specklespot. That made her smile. (((OOC:Well as much as cats can smile...))) They were like one big family. Family? Nightclaw pondered as she thought about starting a family of her own. (((OOC: I don't know how much sense this post made; sorry!)))

Whisperwind had heard the rustling in the brush, but not before his brother. Specklespot was the hunter of the pair and detected things much quicker than Whisperwind did. Well, most of the time. It was Specklespot twitching his ears at the noise that alerted Whisperwind of a cat's approach, not the actual sound. But he didn't turn, neither did. This was because both knew who it was who was approaching. And as she settled herself beside her love, both felt warm feelings towards her. Not the same warm feelings, and definately not in equal measure, but a warm feeling is a warm feeling, especially from a cat as normally bothered by the presence of other cats as Specklespot.
Flicking his long, thin tail against her flank, Whisperwind pressed his slightly larger body against Nightclaw's. Now the sunrise was truelly perfect, with the two cats he was closest with in the world sharing it with him. From the moment Nightclaw's silky fur touched his own, a contented happiness oozed through his small, lean body. Truelly there was no cat that could possibly feel more blessed than he.

(((OOC: awww Whisperwind is such a sweet heart... haha can you say LADY'S MAN!?))) A purr caught in Nightclaw's throat with Whisperwind's show of affection. Nothing could make her happier then the cat she was sitting beside. He was her best friend. Well now, I guess one could safely say that they were more then friends. Nightclaw bravely disturbed the stillness by turning to lick Whisperwind's cheek. Her eyes gazed lovingly at the gentle tom who had stolen her heart. (((OOC: hahaha how cheesy is that!?! wow!)))

occ:haha I know right? I'm enjoying rping this too much to be healthy XD
A smile spread across his face, how could he help it? One touch from her was all it took to make him feel the way he did. His pelt twitched happily afterwards, sending a ripple from his body to Nightclaw's. The sun was no longer holding his attention. Whisperwind turned toward her, catching her beautiful eyes and gazing deep into them. He could see himself in them. He could she himself in her. And he would always be with her, where ever Starclan took them.
ooc:mine was pretty cheesy too, you have to admit. but hey, cheesy posts are the funnest to write!

(((OOC: yup, that has to be true. Haha how many love posts have we written now?))) Nightclaw's pelt tingled. She had no way to express just how much she loved Whisperwind. To StarClan and back (not literally)--no, more! He was perfect. They were perfect for each other. Nightclaw felt herself bursting. She felt as if she would die with sadness. Or happiness. She couldn't tell. She was confused, that was for sure; she knew she loved Whisperwind, but she wasn't sure if that was entirely good or not. What would she do if she ever lost him? But why think that? Nightclaw knew she could never, ever lose him. No matter what. It just couldn't happen. If a good cat like him died, what hope was there for anyone else? Nightclaw tried to shake the thought off. Why should she be depressed when it was such a beautiful day, and she was with the love of her life. None the less, she pressed her nose into Whisperwind's fur for comfort, letting his sweet scent float around her, allowing her to forget her worries.

ooc:no idea, but I'm sure someone will mock us for them later Whisperwind's happiness emboldened him. Fearing nothing, with the strength of a thousand badgers, the young warrior felt as if he could do anything, go anywhere, achieve everything. Not a negative thought entered his mind, which was the effect of love on a personality like his. Strange, yes, since usually he was the one offering that small, somewhat pessimistic voice of truth that brought others to their senses. But not even that could hold his feelings down now. He had no way of knowing what Nightclaw was thinking, but he knew what she was feeling. Confused yet perfectly happy and content to be, afraid yet unable to fully accept his own fears. As if they were intangible dreams, they floated away into the recesses of his mind. The sun was finally risen, no part touching the outline of the moore. Bird song filled the air and many creatures were now awake and sturring. Everything had combined in that perfect moment, the sunrise, the calm, his brother, his love, and now it had passed into a forever remembered and treasured memory. The day had begun. Drinking in her scent to complete the scene, Whisperwind murmured softly into Nightclaw's ear, "And what shall we do today?"

OOC: probably. haha awww im such a loser; i was just taking my hair out of a ponytail and its relatively short, so i was just kinda shaking it out, and i totally knocked them off of my face. haha that was embarrasing even though i did it all alone! actually, thats not true, my gerbils saw me = P Nightclaw's heart felt like it was about to burst out of her chest at Whisperwind's voice. His wonderful, hipnotizing voice. "Well, I'm always up for a hunt, but I feel like we need to something special. It's such a nice day!" Nightclaw voice was quivering with excitement of just being with Whisperwind for the whole day. She was with him every day, yet the thought still excited her. "What do you think? OOC:poo, k, my dad's having a spaz, so i guess ill just end it here. I'll post right after school.

Music. Music to his ears. That's what Nightclaw's vioce was to the happy young tom. He considered her suggestion for a few moments, thinking of something new and different they could do, and thought maybe a nice walk around the boarder could give them plenty of time together. Then they could inform their leader that the boarders were secure and a boarder patrol need not be sent out. It's like they were catching two rabbits with one swipe. "We could walk around the boarder?" he suggested, hoping this was good enough.

OOC: good idea! haha, yup. OMG. so freaky. Today at school we had to be evacuated at 10:55 and it was so crazy. Everyone had to stay out of the halls and share cellphones to call parents, cuz the phones were jammed. There were policemen in the hallways... Someone kinda sent a threat to our school or something. Kinda scary...
Nightclaw let out a satisfied sigh. Her radiant eyes shone with the excitement she had whenever she was near Whisperwind. "Sounds purrfect!"
OOC: sorry for the short post, my mom's getting mad and i have to get ready for soccer. If you can't "work off" of it, then i'll be modifying it when i get home. SORRY!

ooc:are you serious? that's so scary, I would have been freaking out. this huge public school in my neighborhood has stuff like that happen every once and a while. for a bomb threat or huge fights and stuff like that.
"Let's go then," he said, delighted he had pleased Nightclaw with his suggestion. Turning to his brother, who'd been oddly silent most of the morning, he asked, "Where do you think we should start?"
Specklespot was still looking out over the moore. For some reason the sun had spoken to him that morning, whispering things to his heart that he couldn't particularly distinguish. Whisperwind's voice was like a gong bringing him out of a dream. "Wa?" he said, shaking his head a bit to clear it before answering, "The Shadowclan boarder? That place is creepy so the sooner we get it out of the way the better." He stood stiffly, hoping the other two hadn't noticed, and headed in Shadowclan's direction.
Whisperwind gave his brother a weird look. He was acting strange. But Nightclaw's presence only gave him a few moments to dwell on this before he was thinking of her again. Getting up to follow his brother, he gave the beautiful she-cat a warm smile and said, "After you."

OOC: sorry about not modifying it... my parents wouldn't let me go on the comp. K, well i guess what happened was some kid tried to commit suicide (he's in the hospital right now), but before he did that he gave a note to a girl saying he had a bomb in his locker or something, so the bomb squad had to come... turned out to be just a bunch of wires or something, but it was still kinda creepy. Nightclaw also noticed that Specklespot was acting strangely, but she shrugged it off; Specklespot could be strange sometimes, there wasn't any reason why this should be any different. Nightclaw felt a tingle of happiness at Whisperwind's offer. "Thanks," She replied, "I guess chivalry isn't dead after all." Whisperwind had proved this to her many times over now, but she couldn't get over how much his kind, little offerings made her day. Why do birds suddenly appear, every time, you are near?OOC: sorry about these short posts, I've just been crazy busy, studying for finals and packing up for my trip and stuff. I'll try to make them as long as possible though.

occ:thats really depressing and scary . don't worry, sometimes it's just difficult to write a lot I understand Leading the way, Specklespot crunched loudly through the bracken. Walking helped to clear his head and after a few moments of listening, when he hear no breaking bracken behind him, he yelled over his shoulder, "Are you two coming or do I have to send a patrol to find you?" Smirking to himself, the elder brother continued in Shadowclan's direction secretly hoping something exciting would happen today. Whisperwind fattened his ears for a moment in embarassment. He couldn't help but be kind, it was in his blood, and especially to a cat he cared about so much. Every word he said, every action he did, he did now to make her smile, to make her laugh, to make her happy. Ears pricking suddenly at Specklespot's joke, he gave a slight chuckle because of his brother's impatience. He followed behind his brother, side by side with the lovely Nightclaw. "So," he said, in airy, aloof voice, "meet any nice toms lately?" A smirk scarily similar to Specklespot's drifted on to his face, making the resemblance between the two much less hard to notice.

OOC: ya, it was a bit creepy. Nightclaw couldn't help but chuckle at Specklespot's impatient joke. "Well actually," she replied to Whisperwind buoyantly, "I have. He's very handsome, and kind, and generous. He always knows what to say and when to say it. He makes me laugh, and I... well I love him so much, sometimes it scares me." Nightclaw tried not to let her voice crack as she continued. "I just don't know what I'd do without him. He makes me so happy, and he's so amazing... but," Nightclaw continued, hoping to lighten the mood, "I don't think you'd like him much." Nightclaw couldn't help but want to know what Whisperwind really thought of her. "Well, I think I may have noticed a certain she-cat hanging around with you lately... care to explain?" Nightclaw felt an ache in her heart. She really did love him so much it hurt. But it was a good hurt. A very good hurt.[/color]

Whisperwind listened intently, even though he was trying to make it seem otherwise. Drinking in every kind word she said, he smiled many times in that short minute. "Sounds like I have some competition," he said, faking a worried tone, "I'll have to watch out for that one. I don't like anyone who steals your attention from me." He finished in a strong, slightly more aggressive tone than he meant to, adding a little chuckle so Nightclaw wouldn't take what he said too seriously. Giving some thought to what he would say next, he let a few moments pass before answering. "Sure, why not? She's...very strong willed. Knows what she wants and how to get it. And even though she seems like the toughest cat you'll ever meet, behind those eyes that sparkle like stars you can see the most caring she-cat a tom could find. When you talk with her, you never want to stop. And yet, every time you see her, it leaves you breathless." He had to stop for a moment, a feeling had welled up in his chest that he really couldn't describe. It was just so powerful, he couldn't help but stopping to acknowlege it. "Now that I have had a taste..." he paused, on purpose this time, cathcing her eye, "I never want to go without her."
While Whisperwind was a sensitive cat, he wasn't use to divulging so much of his feelings about anything or anyone. He didn't really have that many cats he could confide in and it was clear his brother wasn't a touchy-feely tell me your thoughts, wishes, and desires type cat. They were close, but there were just certain things Specklespot just didn't talk about with other cats. And yet, despite the fact that this was unusual for him, Whisperwind felt elated and free.
