Shinypaw + Rabbitpaw

Rabbitpaw padded over to another Windclan apprentice whom she didn't recognize in the early morning sunlight. One of Rabbitpaw's favorite things to do was just lay in the sun and let it warm her mind and fur, but she couldn't do that now. She had been asked to take another apprentice with her on a small hunting patrol, and she was on shaky ground with Bearpaw.

"Hello,"
she meowed to the apprentice, sitting down and wrapping her tail around her legs in the usual posture. She rasped a tounge over the fur on her chest.

Shinypaw turned around, "Um.. Hi, who are you?" She asked politelly, hiding her usual, hyperkinetic self. Her golden pelt shined a bit when the sun hit her, but she just licked her and turned again to the other apprentice, her green eyes meeting the other's. "I don't think we've met before, I'm Shinypaw, and you are...?"

"Hi Shinypaw. I'm Rabbitpaw,"
she meowed. "Rainstar asked me to go on a small hunting patrol with another apprentice, are you interested?"
Rabbitpaw stretched her tired muscles to rid herself of the last clutches of sleep as she watched the other apprentice, her own green eyes twinkling. Her brown paws, ears, and tail made it look like she had covered them in dirt because of the rest of her white fur.

Shinypaw nodded. "A pleasure to meet yoo.. so Rainstar asked you? Hm..." She said thoughtfuly. "I was planning to see someone today but he can wait, sure! Let's go on the patrol then, I'm sure that cat can wait." Shinypaw grinner sadly at the thought of Finchpaw waiting for her at the Rierclan border. He can wait for me just this time.. Just this time.. "So, when do we start?"

Rabbitpaw smiled and shrugged in indifference.

"Here, there. Anywhere the prey is good,"
she meowed happily. She stood and began to pad toward the entrance, taking one last look behind her at the apprentice's den where her furutre mate sat, probably still sleeping. She grinned and purred with laughter at the thought.

Shinypaw nodded slightly, following Rabbitpaw. "Let's go to the Grassy Moores, there might be some rabbit running there!" She sugested, running ahead of Rabbitpaw.

Rabbitpaw chased after her, laughing. She easily caught up with the other apprentice, being faster than most cats. Her mother had told her long ago that was how she had gotten her name. She smiled at the memories before she stopped to sniff the air.

Shinypaw stopped behind Rabbitpaw, "My! You're fast! No wonder they called you Rabbit!" She exclaimed, laughing. Sniffing tha air, as the other apprentice was doing, she followed a appettious(sp?) scent throught the soft, green grass.

Rabbitpaw caught a scent and followed it, only a few feet from her new friend. A mouse lingered in the grass, and it was just catching scent of her when she pounced, catching it between her teeth and clamping down. She buried it gently, careful not to ruin it, and padded over to Shinypaw, waiting patiently as she stalked her prey.

Shinypaw gave a sudden leao towards her prey, and in a heart beat she had a brown-redish rabbit in her jaws. She burried it besides Rabbitpaw's catch, and shook dirt of her pelt. Looking at Rabbitpaw, she added, "Good catch! And fast!" She grined, and kept scenting.

Rabbitpaw smiled in thanks and followed Shinypaw as they scented through the grass. Another scent caught her attention, but this time it wasn't prey. She had only been an apprentice for a day or two, and this wasn't a scent she recognized. She saw Shinypaw's head lift up in confusion. Suddenly, she didn't feel safe.

((not a badger plz.. it's always a badger! let it be a fox this time.. ))

Shinypaw lifted her head and turned with confusion at Rabbitpaw. "Can you smell that?" She said, sniffing the air once more. Not prey, not a badger.... what is it? She thought. Sniffing the air even more, the scent grew stronger and the smell was like of a dog's. But it is not a dog, or it would be barking... Suddenly, she turned, and saw a reddish figure behin Rabbitpaw. "Rabbitpaw! Behind you! Look out!" Shinypaw yowled, pushing Rabbitpaw out of a fox's way, landing on the soft grass.

Hawkclaw padded sadly up a small hill, thinking. Once he was at the top, he heard younge vioces and then saw two small shapes in the distance. So he decided to meet the 'shapes.' Soon he relized that it was Rabbitpaw and another cat that he didn't know. "Hi Rabbitpaw, whos your friend?"

Rabbitpaw rolled on the ground from the force of Shinypaw's push, but she jumped up and rushed over, protecting Shinypaw as she was protected. Claws unsheathed and hissing, she jumped into the air, landing on the fox's back and digging her claws in, hanging on for life, and enduring several bites and scratches to hold her position. Her legs bled freely.

((ok.. Rabbitpaw has been getting into too much trouble lately XP))

Shinypaw saw Rabbitpaw jump on the fox, bleeding. Angry at the fox, she attacked it's legs (the fox's weakest point,) bitting flesh out of them. With a scratch across her cheek, Shinypaw kept attacking the fox, trying to avoid it's jaws. "Stay on it's back Rabbitpaw!" She yowled. She went under the fox, and to it's rear, bitting hard on it's fluffy tail. Shinypaw suddenly saw Hawkclaw arrive, "Help!" She managed to yowl from the fox's tail in her jaws.

((Shinypaw has been an apprentice for quite a while now, that's why she is a little bit more knowledged than Rabbitpaw. Just giving u info guys.. ))
