Rabbitpaw's eyes opened in shock as she watched Hawkclaw blush. Her mind was filled with the words he had just said. Had he meant it? She looked into his eyes, darting back and forth between them and seeing that he was sincere. It honestly surprised her. Her tail twined tighter with his on its own, and she thought for a while as she licked his ears and head.
"We should let the medicine cat check you out,"
she meowed gently, her eyes sparkling with a new emotion as she stared at Hawkclaw. She rubbed her head against his neck and purred. |

"O.k hopefully I need any of those disgusting berrys or seeds." Then Hawkclaw affectionnitly licked Rabbitpaws soft cheak.

Rabbitpaw laughed, a soft melodious sound that filled the air. She walked forward, pulling him with her by their intertwined tails. When they got to camp she sat outside of the medicine cat's den until he came back out a while later. She was laying down, rasping her tongue over a stubborn bunch of fur on her hip when he walked out, and she glanced up at him, jumping to her feet.
"Is everything ok?"
she asked, voice filled with concern. She stepped forward, stifling a yawn in the new darkness as she watched him. |

"Everythings fine, she just said to take it easy," Hawkclaw meowed with a hint of joy. ""What do you want to do now?" Then he added," Go for a walk, hunt, eat, ect." Hawkclaw sat down, his black and white fur shone in the sun light, and licked one of his white paws.

Rabbitpaw smiled at him gently, dipping her head before she replied.
"Maybe we should talk."
She looked at him, her eyes serious. She walked over to him, licking his cheek as she padded forward. Turning back to him, she meowed, "Do you think I'll be a warrior soon?" Her pleading eyes looked at him, and he knew what she was thinking. She couldn't officially have a mate until she was a warrior. |

"We can talk, do you want to go some where private?" Hawkclaw meowed questionly. Then he meowed seriosly noticing Rabbitpaws eyes," Of coarse you will be a warrior soon, if you want we can ask the leader first."

Rabbitpaw nodded, all her insecurity melting away for the time-being. She was happy with Hawkclaw. She nodded at his question and padded over to a shady corner of the camp where she laid sometimes and laid down, watching Hawkclaw as he walked over to her.
"Did you mean what you said?"
she asked shyly. |

"When you said you loved me."
After the words hung in the air, she fidgeted, knowing she couldn't take them back. If he wasn't serious about it, what would happen now? He would think she was dumb for believing him! He was in pain, maybe he wasn't thinking clearly...
But something in her head said he was serious, and she clung to that. Rabbitpaw laid her head on his paws as she nervously awaited an answer. A memory of Bearpaw's arrogance came back to her. How had he won her over? She didn't know, but he had said he loved her to. And that had left her alone. She didn't feel like she would ever be able to trust another tom again. Could Hawkclaw, her mentor, change that? |

"Of coarse I mean what I said when I said I love you,"he meowed. "I am not some traitor like Bearpaw, I would never hurt you like the way he did," a snarl escaped his mouth as he thought of Bearpaw.

Rabbitpaw smiled at Hawkclaw, her eyes growing sad at the memories Bearpaw's name brought back.
"I'm sorry. I should have known better...he was an irresponsible apprentice. But I really did like him. He was my only friend."
She stopped and looked at Hawkclaw. "And now you are."
She licked his cheek again, loving that she could after all this time. |

Hawkclaw noticed that he brought back sadness to Rabbitpaw again after mentioning Bearpaw. "I am sorry for bring up Bearpaw and I shouldn't have put you in a acward place when you had to chose over me or him." Then he meowed lovingly,"I'm glad that im you friend, so I hope that we will be more than that." Hawkclaw started to purr with joy that he and Rabbitpaw are finnaly closer than they were. Then Hawkclaw started to lick hisn apprentice's ears.

Rabbitpaw relaxed into Hawkclaw's licks, loving the sound of his deep voice as it flowed over her. She sighed happily, mentally agreeing with his statements. She too was glad they were more than friends. She looked up at him with full green eyes and blinked once, letting her long eyelashes affect the warrior.
"Tell me a story?"
she asked shyly, wanting to hear his voice again. She laid her head back down on his paws. |

Joy swelled up in him as he felt her pelt against his. Then he meowed jokingly," I know one where an apprentice had a bad fall on the grassy mores." Hawkclaw meowed,"I know one that my mother told me when I was a young kit and not a old hog." Then he meowed questioningly, ((*in questioningly is a word, LOL)) "Do you want to hear it?"

She flicked her tail over his nose for the comment about himself.
"Yes, and you are NOT and old hog."
She licked his cheek repeatedly to prove her point before laying back down and closing her eyes, feeling her muscles relax at the thought of sleeping next to her mate. She leaned against him heavily, loving the feel of his fur mixed with hers. |
