Inkpaw tried to hide a smile at her mentors, eagerness. “Alright grumpy.” She said, mimicking his same sarcastic tone. She took a seat in front of him and studied him with he Fiery green eyes, her pelt shifting as her muscles tensed and rolled beneath it. “So, where to first? I’m up for anything.” Trying to hide her infectious enthusiasm. She tail lashed impatiently and she stood and paced trying to escape the silence. Her gaze was focused on Eagleclaw. As much as he didn’t know it he was the closet thing she had to a father.

“The decision is yours.” Inkpaw purred with a huff. Settling down on her haunches her silver coat reflecting the suns dim rays. Though a glimmer of mischief sparkled in her eyes and she said abruptly, “But I really would enjoy battle training. I have had some experience with fighting but its always been an interest of mine so…” She paused awkwardly. “Yeah.” She finished lamely with a curt nod. She promptly stood and stretched, her claws extending, then disappearing back into he pads. “Well, would you like to get started then?” She asked with spunk and she flexed her claws in readiness.

Eagleclaw mumbled something inaudible under his breath for a moment. Then he turned his head up and made eye contact with the cat. "Fighting, a favorite of mine if there is one. SHow me what you've got," he grumbled. Then he placed both of his front paws firmly on the ground and dug his claws into teh soil.

Inkpaw was quickly in a fighting stance, squaring her shoulders, a broad smile etched its way across her mouth. Her shoulders bunched, hissing “With pleasure.” Her smile parted to reveal knife like fangs. Though as much as she wanted to leap forward and fight, experience had taught her it was better to wait and analyze her opponent first. She hissed and flexed her claws as she circled her mentor menacingly. Her muscles bunched and twitched beneath her, betraying her untamed joy of fighting.

Eagleclaw sighed under his breath. He hadn't wanted an apprentice. He wasnt going to hurt the poor apprentice and fightback.

Inkpaw hissed in annoyance and rage as she realized her mentor was holding back! The thought was an insult to her. He underestimates me, and my skill in battle… she thought with frustration. Though…a though came to her…this may work to my advantage. “Is this all you’ve got?” she provoked maliciously, still circling him. Her claws flexed as her hackles raised ready to strike. Her muscles bunched and in a flash she was off the ground her silver fur stroked in her fury. She reached out for hiss shoulder claws extended but at the last moment redirected her course and headed for his chest, a trick she had learned in her old rouge clan. She smiled grimly as she braced for a solid impact.

EagleClaw sidestepped swiftly. "I have my tricks of my own up my sleeve." His eyes danced playfully.

No! Inkpaw scowled but it was to late to re-chart her course as Eagleclaw sidestepped. Inkpaw flew by him feeling the touch of his fur as she raced by tumbling into a heap behind him. She staggered to her feet shaking the dirt from her pelt, but all the while a grin stayed on her face. “Hmm nice move, ha.” She joked with him, trying to provoke the playfulness out of his eyes. Her eyes burned brightly with curiosity as she once again began to circle her mentor in mock battle. She gave a quick but musical laugh then flexed her claws still watching.

Eagleclaw lunged forward, to the left a bit, to stop her move leftward. At the last second, he would twist to the right, almost always guaranteeing a hit. He smiled faintly.

Inkpaw saw his strategy but moments no late. She was knocked backwards, her velvety pelt landing in a heap. She scowled and grumbled something under her breath before staggering to her feet to face him. Her eyes burned with new determination as she took the correct stance and began to circle him, with a menacing gleam in her eye.

Eagleclaw sat firmly in place as the cat circled him. He was almost a hundred percent sure she would pounce on his back from behind. He listened intently to her pawsteps and at the last second he would sidestep.

Infuriated, Inkpaw took a step forward, inching closer to her prey. She still circle warily but in her mind calculating the best strategy for attack. She suddenly sped forward, knocking into her mentor with all of the force in her sturdy body. The force shook her but she quickly rounded, astonished at the solid force of Eagleclaw. She leaped up, but suddenly change course and aimed to his right shoulder, she braced for impact.

Eagleclaw noticed the cat's move a little too late. He got push a little backwards but sicne he was mostly muscle, he was just taken a tad bit off balace. He sheathed his claws and batted at the apprentice's face and tried to trip her paws from under her.
