A shadow passing over a moonbeam on the ground went unnoticed by everyone except a lone raven perched on a high branch. The yellow eyes followed the stealth silently, but didn't make a sound. Two yellow eyes, obviously belonging to a cat from their slitted shape, flashed through the darkness as the cat lay silently for a moment. The she-cat's tail flicked in the air nervously as she wondered what she was even doing here. All five of her senses were alert to every thing that happened from that point on.
Touch: The feel of the muddy ground beneath her pelt sent shivers through her lithe frame, but she kept silent as it soaked through her. Any slight movement made a squish, causing her to keep still.
Sight: The pitch black darkness wasn't a problem for the Shadowclanner, she was used to it. Her eyes cut right through it as if it wasn't there and she saw nothing but trees and shadows. Nothing to interest her for now.
Smell: The musty smell that was the forest assaulted her senses, and behind it she thought she could just pick out a lone chipmunk, not quite a meal but enough to fill a lone cat's stomach. Ghostfur wasn't hungry.
Sound: The wind through the trees was eery in such darkness, but Ghostfur was searching for something beyond that. Nothing.
Taste: Her mouth was dry with anticipation, and she tasted nothing but the possibility of adventure.

Behind the unfamiliar cat, a black form crouched. Her green eyes searched beyond the bush in which she was hidden. Silently, she stood, her muscular form creepling around the bush, the noise unheard from the whistling wind. The wind carried a single scent to her nose... It was Virtuouskit! She was alive! "Virtuouskit." she called, she knew her kit was out there somewhere! Oh if she could only bury her nose into her kits fur again. Her senses were alert, but ignoring, she had just skipped over the cat she was following around to see her sweet young again.

(Can I join too?)
Tossing her head in the most frivilous manner, the growing apprentice edged closer to the black she-cat in her best stealth movements. Oh, Clan life. It was beginning to tip on the cliff of insanity, or for Scorchpaw, at least. Kits going missing, camp attacks, new Clanmates from outside the warrior code... Did anything really count as "tradition", anymore?
JadeEyes was on her own private mission, by the wondering look in her green eyes. Scorchpaw decided not to disturb her. A fox-length away, however, was none other than Ghostfur, looking hyped and starry-eyed. In any other situation, Scorchpaw would have probably shrugged away and went back to camp to find her mentor. But no. Scorchpaw was an apprentice, yes, but she was the oldest, and far surpassed the rest of the apprentices in common combat skills. She should be on a patrol with these warriors, not watching them.

Ghostfur rose quickly to her paws, her eyes registering shock at noticing two cats from her clan behind and beside her. She noticed the far-away look in the eyes of Jadeeyes, and decided not to comment her just yet. "Scorchpaw?" she asked, turning to the older apprentice with a questioning manner.

Jadeeyes came out of her trance. "Eh..." she mumbled, her eyes shrouded with sadness. Her kit was so close.... but Jadeeyes knew of her death... It was a tradgedy that had caused her kit to go blind. Why must she always get the bad luck....

Scorchpaw felt her ears grow hot in embarrassment. She hadn't wanted the warrior discovering her sneaking around. Even better: Jadeeyes was recovering from her daydreaming, so now probably both she-cats were wondering what she was doing lurking around them at this time of night.
"Err..." Scorchpaw began, stepping out of the bushes noisily. "Hello..." Great. Scorchpaw was always a vibrant, hyperactive apprentice, using the battle techniques to her advantage by combining her quick-thinking swiftness. However, as of the past few weeks and being neglected a warrior ceremony, Scorchpaw had toned down in a bad way. She couldn't even speak to warriors without her bitterness getting in the way.

Ghostfur didn't smile, but her eyes were easy. "As long as you know you shouldn't be out here I'm not going to punish you." Her tail flicked in the air as the feeling of wanting an apprentice of her own came back, but she quelled it. Whenever her leader felt it fit to give her one she would get one.

Jadeeyes frowned. "Sorry... I could.. I could smell Virtuouskit." her eyes filled with sadness as she looked from each cat. "I miss her." she whispered to herself. She sat down and covered up her sobs by licking her tail.

Ghostfur shifted from foot to foot uncomfortably; she had never been able to handle her own tears well, let alone other peoples. She took a hesitant step forward and looked to Scorchpaw as if for support, but then turned back to Jadeeyes. She lifted her tail and rubbed it on the she-cat's shoulder for a few seconds, hoping it gave some kind of comfort. She didn't know the whole story about Jadeeye's kit, but she did know it had tragically perished somehow. She had never had kits, but she knew it had to be hard.
