Nightclaw wandered through her Clans territory, deep in thought. Clan life was rewarding, but could be stressfull, and she just needed a break from it all. Before she knew it, she was at the ShadowClan border.Ugghh. From the smell of it, a patrol past by here just moments ago! Nightclaw thought. She stopped moving, and sunk lower into the gorse, hoping that no cat- WindClan or ShadowClan- would see her this close to the ShadowClan border, though that was unlikely, because she knew her black coat would stand out in the pale grasses. (((anyone can join)))

Whisperwind padded silently through the dry gorse that surrounded camp. He heard scuffling in a nearby bush, but a moment later a few small crows burst out and flew away. He sighed, walking on. His brother usually slept in late, leaving Whisperwind a while to himself, but he felt bored and wished he had someone to talk to. Leaping onto a nearby boulder, the young tom decided to see if anything was up. After a few quick seconds, he spotted Nightclaw's dark pelt hidden close to the Shadowclan border. "Odd," he thought, "patrols are usually the only ones who go that close to the border and Nightclaw is all by herself." A light breeze picked up and whistled softly through his fur. Brown eyes gleaming, he lept nibly off the rock and closed the gap between himself and Nightclaw quickly. "Good morning," he said, making sure to rustle the bushes around him so he didn't surpirse the she-cat. "Why are you so close to the border? If you don't mind me asking." he said politely, seating himself next to her.

A gentle breeze guided Dancingwind down the abandoned tunnels of the marsh. This forsaken place had often been a target of long naps and aimless leisure as she wandered path so long ago discarded. Claws clicked quietly on the ground, sending faint echoes, giving the place a haunting feel. She liked it. Aside from the whisper of her paw steps, Her heart was the one thing that disturbed the silence. A slow, confident rhythm, the drumming of a soul. A peace was invigorating, a brake, from the hardships and sorrows, though with her she carried a constant reminder of the horror that had shattered her old life. But a new day had risen, a fresh start, and she intended to make it better. But the itch of her grief felt like a thorn in her mind, ever haunting her. The stillness was suddenly broken by the quiet rhythm of voices. Voices? Here? Her ears strained. Yes I do believe I am correct. Her tail rose slightly. Hmm, this may prove interesting. She took off at a brisk trot towards the source of the disturbance. As she drew nearer the voices became more unique, displaying their own singular resonance that made it their own. Windclan. She could smell them now. The thicket opened up and she could see them now. She flexed her claws on the soft marsh ground that which covered most of Shadowclan territory. What might they be doing here?

After Whisperwind finished speaking, he listened to the stillness that engulfed the pair. It didn't last long, however, because he suddenly heard a steady rustling coming from their right. His ears swivled in that direction a second before his head did. Tasting the air, he smelt a Shadowclan cat. His adreniline started pumping. If a patrol found them this close to their territory, what would they do? His answer was it didn't matter, because a second sniff told him this cat was alone. If she tried anything, he thought Nightclaw and himself could handle one cat. Peering closely at the hedge were the quiet noise was coming from, he said, "You can come out, I smell you."

Jadeeyes appeared opposite Dancingwind. "Why are you on our border?" She demanded from the Windclan Cats. Jadeeyes had received Dancingwind as a distraction, a gift from StarClan so she could make a clean sneak up. "We know what to do to bad wittle kitties who tresspass." she taunted, treating the Windclan cats like babies. She flexed her claws and looked over to Dancingwind, slipping a slipt second grin.

As much as Dancingwind didn’t want to, she couldn’t help but smile back and stifle a snicker. She wasn’t here to give these cats trouble, just a swift warning not to cross into Shadowclan's territory. But if a fight happened, JadeEyes had just arrived so she wasn’t worried. They didn’t look hostile, but you can never be to careful. She eyed the Moore swept Windclan cats. She flexed her claws, but not in defiance, feeling the soft earth beneath her paws. Hmm, now how will this story unfold? She smiled.

Whisperwind looked quickly at the second cat who had appeared, then back at Dancingwind. He could tell she didn't care about starting anything, but the second she-cat named Jadeeyes he wasn't so sure about. His calm composure was what was needed here. "We haven't crossed the boarder," he pointed out, "and we never intended to." Getting to his feet, he stared straight into the eyes of both cats and continued, "But we also know what to do when cats from a rival clan go where they shouldn't." He held his head high, not in a hostile way, but to show that he meant what he had said and that he wasn't afraid. The wind blew softly through his long fur, making its characteristic coo. A fight was the last thing he wanted, and if one was to comence, it would not be caused by this Windclan cat.

Jadeeyes narrowed her eyes. These Windclan wimps didn't scare her, she was from Shadowclan. She rolled her eyes, exchanging a glance with Dancingwind. "You should be afraid." she mumbled, her bad side showing. This was why she was in Shadowclan, and she wanted EVERYONE to know it.

Whisperwind could see through the macho attitude of Jadeeyes. He wasn't scared of these two, if need be he could efficiently defend himself, but he still wanted to avoid an unecessary battle. He waited calmly for one of them to make a move. No way would he turn his back on two Shadowclan cats when they were this close to the boarder.

From the top of the moore, the old, dark deputy quickly surveyed the situation at hand. His warriors were dangerously close to the ShadowClan border, and by the looks of their opponents, weren't too pleased. He made a snorting noise, flicking his tail for his apprentice Hawkpaw to follow, and dove down the side of the hill like a dark flash among the bracken. As deputy, he quickly skirted Whisperwind in a defensive manuver, but when he came face to face with the ShadowClan cats, he softened. "Greetings, ShadowClan. What brings you this close?"
"For StarClan's sake, what's happening now?" The oddly impatient voice belonged to Scorchpaw, the oldest ShadowClan apprentice. She appeared behind Jadeeyes, intending to look careless and annoyed rather than her signature curiosity and vibrance. The dark tabby apprentice locked pale green eyes with a similar pair with the WindClan deputy. "What are you doing here?"

Jadeeyes flicked her tail at Scorchpaw as she appeared. "Don't act all stupid!" she snarled at Darkwing. "Your warriors were on our territory!" she said, hostily.
Eagleclaw filtered his way through the forest, his head down, claws flexing. He murmured under his breath as he 'stumbled' apon the clearing. "Oh what now?" he moaned quietly.
Moondance appeared in the bushes on her side of the border. Darkwing was ahead of her, and she could sense trouble. "What is going on?" she asked blankly, staring about with her blind eyes.

Specklespot yawned outside of camp. He'd seen the deputy hurry off with his apprentice. Whisperwind had already left, and he decided to follow the deputy to see if he could be any use. If Specklespot wasn't constantly on the move, he tended to suffer from extreme boredum. Racing across the moore with a speed any Windclan cat would respected, he saw the proceedings standing were his deputy had moments before. Instantly he was in battle mode, alert and energized. In a few long bonds he was at his younger brother's side, staring defiantly at the Shadowclan cats. "What happened?" he murmered to his brother. "Nothing so far." Whisperwind said. "So don't start anything!" he added in a hiss, looking wearily at the battle hungry cats.

The fire-clad apprentice whisked after his mentor, the deputy of Windclan, nearly matching his gait. What were these Shadowclan cats doing so close to Windclan’s territory? He paused net to Darkwing at the very edge of their territory. He could smell Shadowclan’s rank scent just a few feet in front of him, but the small stretch of space between the clans. No mans land. The fur on his back began t raise, and her let hisclaws free from their sheaths to knead the soft ground. The apprentice was by nature quick to fight, but through Darkwing’s training he had learned restraint…but just barely. He stood where he was.
Now Dancingwind was becoming agitated. Where in Starclan did all of these Windclan cats appear from so quickly? No matter, She hissed with an odd sort of pleasure. Fighting wasn’t one of her favorite things to do but she sure was good at it. She had to be, her life was hell before she came to Shadowclan as a loner. She flexed her claws and yowled her defiance along with JadeEyes. More Shadowclan had come, yes, this is good.

Darkwing took a long look at his warriors, and an even softer one when Moondance appeared. He quickly observed where they were, how Whisperwind was positioned, and where their earlier scents had been marked. "You must be Jadeeyes," he said slowly, eyeing the warrior thoughtfully. "I've heard about you," he continued, not complimenting or scornfully. "As for this little border skirmish, I fail to see that my warriors have stepped over the border. Their scent isn't behind it. Even your..." he stopped in shock, looking at Scorchpaw with vague recognition. And odd feeling came over him, and though he didn't take his eyes of the she-cat, he finished, "...even your apprentice can see that."

Whisperwind looked at his deputy after he'd glanced at the young tom. Now he started to worry. If one of the Shadowclan cats made a move, he was sure his battle-ready brother and Hawkpaw would be quick to retaliate. Ignoring Darkwing's strange look at one of the Shadowclan cats, he added, "Darkwing is right, we haven't set paw in your territory."
