(what do you mean hawkclaw was busy? He wasn't even talking to anyone but rabbitpaw and Pantherpaw. LOL)
Hawkclaw looked over at Rabbitpaw and Pantherpaw. He bearly noticed Rabbitpaw's question but he wanted to look interested in their conversation. Hawkclaw pricked his ears and listened to Pantherpaw. He looked at the over sized pawed apprentice and waited.

Palestar led her clan into the gathering. She was panting heavily and turned toward the other leaders. "I am sorry for our delay. Please continue," she wheezed as she lept onto the tree and climbed up to a branch.

Bonefoot nodded once to Palestar before yowling like Rainstar had done, but not to start the Gathering, but for silence. "Quiet!" he mewed down to the cats. "The Gathering has begun. Everyone give your utmost respect to Fernstar."

Rabbitpaw stopped mid-sentence to look up at the leaders on the branch. So, RiverClan had finally arrived? She shared an eye roll with Pantherpaw before leaning up against Hawkclaw as she gave her full green-eyed attention to the important cats on the branches.
Swiftcloud stopped watching Dragonflower to turn and look at Bonefoot. He looked so comfortable up there...and if she had any meanness in her at all she would point out he didn't belong there yet. As it was, she was content to just sit and watch.
Sparklestorm ran into the clearing after their leader, blushing when she realized they were severely late. Sitting in an empty spot, she looked around at the ThunderClan cats. She was nervous about what their reactions would be toward Ambercloud, and maybe even her. After all, she was the reason he had left. Looking up at her mate, she expressed her concerns through her eyes.

Pantherpaw shrugged, fixing Rabbitpaw a look with his crimson eyes. "Its ok. Pretty quiet, nowadays." He said, proud of himself. It answered her question, but gave nothing away. He looked up suddenly as another cat rushed in, and he gave a slight noise of annoyance. "About time." He muttered under his breath, before giving his full attention to the cats about to speak.
Hawkclaw found a place, by himself, and curled his fluffed tail around his white body, ready to hear what the leaders had to say.

Breezenight watched with disinterested eyes toward the center of the gathering. Not really wanting to be rude, but she was beginning to lose interest in daily life. She had been suffering from an illness consuming her from the insides. Her pale olive green eyes closed with relief to see Riverclan was alright. She coughed gently using her tail to muffle the sound and laid down in a more comfortable position.
Khansoul frowned slightly as he saw the Thunderclan deputy demanding silence, but he realized that if he were given that rank he would do the same. His bushy orange tail thumped the ground with slight anger at himself. His yellowish orbs centered on the three leader and deputy.
An icy pelt rosetted like a snow leopard's sat among the Thunderclanners. Deepest dark blue orbs looking around with inquietude, he pawed the ground timidly, and looked up at the branches were the high ranked cats sat.
An apprentice size she-cat entered the gathering place, her brown tail ringed with black high up. Not even a tinge of shame, for Riverclan being late. She heard the Thunderclan deputy calling for silence, and unconsciously let out a hiss, "Who does he think he is now?" She meowed to herself indignantly taking a sit near Sparklestorm, whom she knew since they were both kits. "Hello." Dewpaw meowed amiably, oblivious to the call for silence.

Fernstar dipped her head in respect and began. "Thank you for coming to the Gathering tonight," she mewed. "As always, we gather under the sacred peace of StarClan this full moon. I am glad to report that ShadowClan is well. We have many young kits ready for apprenticeship. They will all make fine warriors. Tonight will also be Pantherpaw's first gathering," she meowed. Then she continued. "As you all know we are having confusion with the deupty, but I promise we are not binding the rules of the warrior code by having two. We only have one, and I have deicded to appoint a whole new deputy to keep further fighting from starting. The new deputy of ShadowClan will be Longclaw." She paused.

Sparklestorm's eyes widened at the revelation from Fernstar's mouth. Could it be true? Her mentor's hidden mate was to be the deputy, future leader of ShadowClan? She looked around for Rosethorn, but couldn't find her. She was shocked, but tried hard not to show it. It would give too much away. She flicked her tail over Dewpaw politely to remind her of the silence code.
Rabbitpaw nodded to Pantherpaw's murmur, and gave him a nudge of congratulations when he was named by his leader. She hoped to soon be a warrior herself, and after her recent conversation with Rainstar, knew she would be. Looking up at Fernstar, her tail flicked happily as she realized she was well on her way to being important.

Pantherpaw felt a rush of pleasure at his leader's words, when he was recognized. It felt good, to be named in front of a gathering. But he said nothing, instead listening. He was more interested in the news of the Deputy. He knew of Longclaw, and had heard of his doings, and therefore could nod to her words. He seemed worthy. Swiftly the tom cat pushed back his envy. He hoped, someday, to be in Longclaw's place. And, even beyond that, someday to be in Fernstar's place.

Wiry tom was lost in thought. Not extremely interested in news of Shadowclan. He was in that clan. Anyway, the deputy would be an extremely loyal cat. But as he pondered again on the whereabouts of Rosethorn and how their kits were, a voice broke through. Him? He, the cat who'd brought halfclanners into the world, would be deputy? "M-me?" He was barely able to studder. His tail twitched and he shuddered with suppressed fear and rage at his never ending flicking tail. He noticed Sparklestorm, Rosethorn's Apprentice. Longclaw walked forward cautiously. Unsureif he'd heard right. Surely Fernstar wouldn't choose him. She wasn't oblivious of his actions, was she? A part of him wanted her to know he'd broken the code. Ambercloud plodded silently after Sparklestorm. His eyes quickly upon Thunderclan. "He's just putting on a show, wouldn't you?" Ambercloud mumured to her. Before settling next to her and staring up at the leaders. Wondering if he'd be able to befriend them again. He doubted it, but Ambercloud shook his head. Determined to be happy about this.

Sparklestorm nodded her head to Ambercloud's question, leaning against him in loving fondness. She kept her eyes locked on Longclaw's wondering what he would say to his leader. She couldn't wait to tell Rosethorn, who didn't seem to be here. She saw him catch her eye and nodded in respect to his new position.
Swiftcloud's tail twitched with restrained fury as she watched Ambercloud pad into the clearing behind a gray she-cat. So, he had already found a mate, or was that cat the reason he had left in the first place? She was a ThunderClan queen, so she was used to being polite and always held any type of anger in check. This would be no exception. Padding over to Ambercloud with her sleek white fur cutting through the darkness, she sat beside him and the young she-cat.
"So. How is RiverClan life?" she asked him conversationally, tail twitching in the air as she looked at him with deep blue eyes that contained a hint of sorrow at her recent loss.

Rosethorn was awed to hear that her beloved mate was chosen as the ShadowClan deputy. But then something hit her. Now she knew he would be torn too far. He would have to choose between her or his Clan. She knew that she needed to take to him, to try and make things easier for Longclaw. He was a deputy now, and someday he might become the leader of his Clan. She was sad. Sad that he was going to be hurt in so many ways. She dipped her head in respect towards her mate.
Palestar saw the look of expression on both cats' faces. Longclaw should be pleased that he was chosen as the new deputy. Palestar understood that Rosethorn was upset, but gave her an encouraging look. "Congratulations, Longclaw. You will make a great deputy," she mewed to the new deputy.

Ghostfur made her way to sit next to Swiftcloud, noting that their fur made a very big contrast as hers was very black and Swiftcloud's was very white. Both of the queens laid down beside each other, tails swishing in the air behind them as they kept part of their attention on the leaders, and part on each other. Ghostfur very beautiful and mate-less, and she knew it. "So, how is Thornshadow?" Swiftcloud blushed. "I don't know. After I had the kits, I never saw him again. It's been so many moons..." Ghostfur was surprised. He had seemed so nice! Just another reason not to trust toms... "What a shame. You had kits?" Swiftcloud nodded. "Two toms and a she-cat. Lionkit, Felonkit, and Autumnkit." Ghostfur nodded, silently wishing for the day she would have kits of her own.
Rabbitpaw yawned, blushing with embarrassment afterward. She was so tired...and she wanted to sleep. Her tail fell slowly from its spot in the air to land on Pantherpaw as she fell asleep leaning on Hawkclaw. Stretched out between both of the toms, she slept lightly.
Sparklestorm looked to Rosethorn, judging her reaction. She puffed her chest out, letting her gray fur shine. She was proud to be a warrior, even if her mate was from another clan. Now that she knew Longclaw joining RiverClan wasn't a possibility, she felt bad for Rosethorn. She reached over to leave a reassuring lick on her old mentor's shoulder. "Your kits will soon be apprenticed, right?" she asked, attempting to take her mind off of Longclaw for the moment.

Rosethorn turned her head to see her former apprentice. She nodded her head slowly. "Yes, very soon. I should hope that you would mentor one of them," Rosethorn mewed quietly. She knew that Palestar would choose Sparklestorm to mentor one of them. After all, Sparklestorm was one of Rosethorn's closest friends. She wouldn't have it any other way.

Longclaw glanced pleadingly at Rosethorn. They needed to meet. The young tom took a deep breath. He wasn't going to let himself be afraid. "T-thank you Palestar" He meowed, shocked. The gray and white warrior walked as if walking to his death. His plan to join Riverclan was a dud. He couldn't now, not when he had to help his clan. He took his spot at the base of the tree. Feeling sick to his stomach. He had torn emotions about it. The amber tabby looked up at Swiftcloud in shock. He couldn't believe she was so civil. He looked around the clearing. Noting another cat, a shadowclan queen. "It is good." He meowed softly. A slight hint of guilt for abandoning his birth clan. He swiveled his head around so he could briskly lick his white island like markings. Hoping for some distraction. He leaned into Sparklestorm. Noticing the surprise a Riverclan warrioress held, Rosethorn, Sparklestorm's mentor. He wondered briefly why.
