Sunny Break

Swiftcloud padded over to the middle of the camp, feeling somehow like she was missing something without her kits pulling at her fur. Now that she actually got a chance to get away for a little while, she didn't feel like being away. She laid down the thrush that was in her mouth, taking her spot beside it and digging in as she contemplated her life.

She hadn't seen her mate since she had had the kits almost 5 moons ago. Had it been that long? They would be apprentices soon! Felonkit would be thrilled...all three of her kits would be amazing apprentices. She turned her thoughts back to her mate, Thornshadow, wondering distantly what happened to him. Had he left without anyone telling her? What would she do if that was the case?

She shook her head of her panic as she finished her thrush, deciding what to do since she couldn't go back to the nursery for another couple of hours as was demanded by the other queens. She padded absentmindedly, not knowing where she was going.

[Midnightpaw]

Midnightpaw padded up. "Hey Swiftcloud! It's a nice day, isn't it?"

Swiftcloud turned to face the young apprentice, her pure, snow white fur gleaming in the bright sunlight. "Yes, it is." Agreeing with someone for once sent a good feeling through her and she smiled. Sitting down from her mindless pacing, she wrapped her tail around her legs and began to wait for the apprentice to talk.

"Where are the kits?" she asked. She looked to the sky and watched the clouds pass. Then she turned her attention back to the older cat.

Swiftcloud narrowed her eyes in tiredness. "In the nursery. The other queens kicked me out for spending too much time there." Yawning to reveal a tiny pink mouth to match her pure white coat, she pierced the apprentice with blue eyes. "When was the last time you went training with your mentor? You've been hanging around camp a lot..."
