Bonefeather padded uncertainly down the small, worn slope to the moonpool. She was neither medicine cat nor clan cat, but being here, where she knew her anscestors watched over her, comforted her somehow. She sat down next to the crystal clear water, wrapping her tail neatly over her paws. Flicking her ears contentedly, she closed her yellow eyes and listened to the profound silence of the hallow.

Ruggedstep watched the small she-cat curl her battle-scarred tail around her apws, staring into the moonpool. This was just the kind of cat he needed. One that had seen the horror of clanlife, and left.
He prowled quietly forward, staying downwind, stepping lightly. His fluffy tail swished silently over the smooth stone, then he pounced.
The she-cat seemed light, it was like catching a rabbit. He pinned her down, but did not growl. he wanted to talk, and that was all.

Bonefeather struggled fiercly as the larger tom landed on her shoulders, but it was no use. His paws were probably the size of her head, and she didn't stand a chance.
Tensing up, she waited for him to scratch, bite, yowl, anything, but nothing happened. She looked over her shoulder at his broad face, and didn't see any hostility there. Flicking her ears angrilly, she spat at him. "What do you want!?" She hissed, "I wasn't on any clan's territory, it's just the moonpool!"

"So you ARN"T a clan cat," Ruggedstep, confirmed. "By the looks of those scars, you once had a very firce battle." He stepped off the she-cat, allowing her to stand back up. "I'm sorry for startling you, I didn't mean you any harm. My name is Ruggedstep. I was once a warrior of Riverclan. I just wish to discuss something with you." He looked over the tiny cat, noticing her eyes were the same shade of yellow as his.

Bonefeather sat up and licked her ruffled fur. She shot a weary look at the cat, Ruggedstep, before replying cautiously.
"What is it that you want?" She kept her head low, and her tail lashed back and forth, angrily. She looked at the scars on her own body. Were they that noticable? "Say what you want, but do it quick, I have little patience."

Taking a deep breath, Ruggedstep began.
"I started out a Riverclan cat, just as you started out a clan cat, but was shunned from traditional clan life, unjustly." He flexed his claws, but quickly sheathed them. "I hold quite a grudge against these clan cats, and, I was hoping, if you agree, we might bring some true justice to these unfair tyrants that live under their flawed code." He ended his explaination with one last statement: "I'm recruting cat's for a new, just clan, Stoneclan. Would you be interested in being my Deputy?"

Bonefeather was so startled by his sudden proposition, she skuttled backwards. "A new clan!" She gasped, letting her claws slide out, "How can that be the will of Starclan!? They want us all to live in piece, clan or no, and forming a new clan without their permision will only cause misery and trouble for all!" She growled and fluffed up her fur, as to look bigger. "Why would you want such a thing!?"

Ruggedstep dipped his head and closed his eyes, understanding of Bonefeathers rage. "Please," He said, his yellow eyes calm. "I know this idea may be startling, but I'm sure if you gave this idea a few night's thought, you'd come to terms." He stood and shook his shaggy pelt. "I'll be here two nights from now. If you wish to come with me and found Stoneclan, meet me before moonhigh on the second night." He bounded out of the moonpool and left nothing but a few red-brown hairs behind.
