A Fatal Mistake

Dragonflower rose quickly and dashed over to Eagleclaw, who was at the nursery.. "If you want I can stand gaurd here so they are safe," Dragonflower suggested, her eyes dark and gray with sadness. She kept on thinking about poor Shadowkit but she new that to be a good warrior, you have to help others from being hurt. Then she looked in the nursery to see shocked faces on the small kits. Dragonflower murmered sooothingly," It going to be o.k, just stay in here and keep hidden untill the hawk(s) go away."

Eagleclaw grunted approvingly and dashed off, to stnd on the front lines fighting.

Dragonflower planted her feet in front of the Nursery and looked up in to the sky. She saw many large hawks circling and see forced a gulp of terror down her throat. Dragonflower kept murmering to the kits," It's going to be all right." She looked in to see what they would say but she didn't expect much from the frightened kits. "They will soon go away," Dragonflower murmered to them ever though she was not certain. The only thing that she knew was that Shadow Clan was strong.

Virtuouskit woke up and saw Dragonflower there. "Hi Dragonflower." she yawned. Then she noticed her brother beside her, covered in blood. Frightfully, she stood up and licked his head, "Shadowkit! Wake up." she said frowning.

"Morning Virtuoskit," Dragonflower meowed gloomily. Then she said," Stay in the nursery and try to keep quiet untill it is safe." Dragonflower meowed more sternly," O.k? Don't craw attendtion to your self."

Virtuouskit stuck her tongue out at the cat as she finished trying to talk to her brother.

"Darn little kits," Dragonflower meowed to her self. Then she decided to let the kit be afraid for a while. "You know Virtuoskit, run out of the nursery right there in the open for a deadly hawkclaw to scoop you up and eat you."

"Okay," Virtuouskit said before walking out of the nursery. "Mommy! Dragonflower told me to get scooped up by a hawk!" She called.

Dragonflower dashed after her and scooped her up and dragged her to the nursery. "I was only kiding." Then she hissed menicingly," Stay in the nursery!!"

Virtuouskit smiled

Dragonflower questioned her in the nursery," What if a hawk accualy got you, huh. If one got you, then Shadowkit will miss you. He will be alone with out you. Then you well only see the inside of a hawks belly." Then she lightly wacked Virtuoskit on the ears and saiid," Stay out of trouble and out of a hawk's beak."

Virtuouskit cried out in pain. "Im gunna tell my mommy!"

[Pantherpaw]

Pantherpaw had laid the wounded kit upon the nursury floor, and watched with wonder as its sibling cried to it. The kit, he had to be alright. He was only a kit, afterall! Kits couldn't die, not like this, it just wouldn't be fair. And yet something else stirred in Pantherpaw's belly. Shadowkit would live...but would these injuries deform him? If he looked odd, would he be teased? No. This wasn't his kit, he didn't even know him, but he would make sure that that would never happen.

"You shouldn't frighten her, Dragonflower." Pantherpaw muttered, his tail flicking. Suddenly, remembering the last time he had talked to the she-cat, when she had found him speaking to the other cat, he got up, his eyes blazing. "I should help out there." He muttered, turning and leaping from the nursury, looking for the hawk.

"I'm not frightening her she won't listen to me when I say that a hawk wouldn't mind eating her," Dragonflower meowed.

Virtuoouskit whined, "Yo utold me to leave the nursery!"
