Moondance stepped forward elegantly, her small delicate paws landed softly on the ground, making no noise. Her heart thundered hin her chest... no moon tonight. She looked up to the sky, but couldnt see anything. Her green and blue eye sparkled in the star's glare. She was going to be totally clueless tonight.

The darkness swirled around him as a soft breeze swept across the mores. The sky was a velvet shade speckled with sliver stars. He stood to admire them and a longing wrenched on his heart, Silvertip. His eyes glazed with thought, he walked the silent hills alone to ponder his thoughts. Though a sudden scent drifted in the air making him freeze. He was not alone. He automatically crouched in a hunting stance and crept through the grass to investigate. He hated to hide but if it was danger he might not be able to take it alone. A white stain shifted in the dark grass making him freeze. He peered through the long grass to see a white she-cat with glassy white eyes. He relaxed, Moondance. The recently joined Windclan cat. He padded into the clearing to join her sitting next to her so their fur touched. “Hello,” he mewed meekly. “Its Hawkpaw, hope you don’t mind if I join you, I just like to come here and think sometimes.”

Moondance shook her hea dout of her trance. She smiled and said kindly,"It is good to have company." her smile widened. This apprentice was very kind to her and very accepting. "There is no moon tonight," she said gravely.

He settled down on his haunches, fixing his amber eyes on the sky littered with bright stars. Focusing his gaze a little closer, her shook his head, astounded to truly find no moon. He looked at Moondance, he eyes flashing a cloudy silver, and he could not help the question, “How can you tell?” his curiosity got the better of him as he looked at the older cat with wonder and confusion. He turned and fixed his gaze to the sky once more, his face a mask of thought as if he were trying to map the stars.

She smiled and said,"Its a gift... the only thing I can see is the moon.. it lulls me to sleep... and gives me power. On the full moons I am very strong.." she said. Then seh sighed deeply.

Hawkpaw sat awed. He felt a deep respect for this cat. He edged a bit closer, comforted by her presence. He sat contentedly, to ponder his own thoughts. He gazed up at the sky, but no moon greeted his pain. The stars sparkle in the distance, the darkening sky enveloped them in a sea of shadow. He sighed. Now more than ever did he question his loyalty. His thoughts were constantly with her, across the river, a place foreign to him. “Silvertip…” He murmured quietly. But clenching his jaws quickly, the thought never supposed to reach his lips. Had she heard? Surely, her hearing must have developed far more acute than any normal cat. He cursed silently, studying the stars.

Moondance heard the young cat murmur something under his breath. But she could sense it was a very deep and private thought. She looked up at the sky, as if searching for a single sliver, a single tip of the moon to show. But she would not have luck on this day. The moon was reversed. But her thoughts did not stay with the sky, instead, she thought about her friend, who had deserted her. She knew Ebonyashes knew she was blind, and she refused to save her. She just floated in the water, donw the river, her head bobbing under the water every so often. Water would choke her and would not stop. The constant flow.... She shuddered and reversed her thoughts. Why did Ebonyashes seek RiverClan? She could not swim, she didnt even save her best friend as she was drowning. Moondance felt tricked as she realized what Ebonyashes was doing. Anger bubbled in her stoumach and spread up to her head, where it messed with her thoughts. But she had learned balance and she knew she must stay balanced. She would request from Rainstar to travel to RiverClan and she would tell Palestarabout Ebonyashes plan. The moon would give her comfort, but today there was no moon, so she couldnt control her feelings and again anger came. She let it.
