The dead mouse seemed to have a life of its own as it flew into the air, then skittered across the ground. It was like a little puppet, doing only what it's puppet master commanded. In this case, its puppet master was none but the young kit, Dragonkit. She was not normally playful, at least not in the sight of others, but today she felt full of life. Prehaps if someone could see her she would be embarassed to be acting like she was. However, she was certain no one could see her, for she was hiding behind the nursury.
The little kitten lept upon the dead mouse, taken from the fresh-kill pile, and then batted at it, sending it flying across the floor. She gave it a minute, pretending as though once again stalking a life mouse, before leaping on it, taking another small bite from its neck. Using her paws, she then threw it up, it was now a bird. She lept after it, trying to grab it in her paws. She was so engrossed in her game that if someone had come up, she wouldn't have noticed them.

Moondance walked up almost silently behind the playful kit. "You know better then to play with your food young Dragonkit." she said wisely with a smile etched across her blind face. SHe knew she had one the same thing as she was a kit, but the other kits had laughed at her, for she always missed. At that time she had not mastered the earth yet... so hard it had been. But times are different now. None had to fend for themselves anymore...

Dragonkit stopped as suddenly as she had started, and whipped around, her fur standing on end. She relaxed quickly, realizing that the cat who had spoken was both a windclan cat, and a good one as well. "Hullo, Moondance." Dragonkit said, almost shyly. She did not often speak to any of the Windclan warriors, what would they want with a kit like herself anyway? But Moondance seemed to be nice, and she didn't seem particularly angry at Dragonkit for playing with the mouse.
"I was going to eat it..." Dragonkit muttered, glancing at the mouse. Her dotted tail flicked over the earth, and she stared at the mouse. She really had planned on eating it, but she had lost herself in the fantasy she had created. To her, before Moondance had come along, she had been in the wild, hunting and catching every mouse she came upon.

Moondance laughed heartily(sp?). A smile again etched apon her face as she looked fondly at where the kit was sitting. "Oh Dragonkit, all of us warriors have played with our food many many times before," she said quietly. "Just dont let a different warrior in a bad mood catch you next time. For you may not be as lucky," she said smiling.

Hawkclaw was laying in the sun and then he had just saw some comotion over by the nursery. Then he decided to check it out. Once he got there he noticed a she cat, that he never realy noticed, a playful kit, and a dusty dead mouse. "I never saw a flying mouce before," Hawkclaw joked. "Did you discover the first of its kind?" Then Hawkclaw sat down to hear the playful kits reply.

When she realized that she was not in trouble, Dragonkit allowed herself to calm down. They are you're clan, afterall! Your just a kit, even if you were in trouble, what was the worst they would do? "You played with your food, Moondance?" The young kit asked, almost in awe. It was hard to imagine one of these warriors dancing around, making mice fly. Her tail twitched, and her eyes sparkled. Dragonkit then turned to the other warrior. "Silly, I made it fly." She laughed, not realizing that he was making a joke.

Moondance laughed, revealing a devilish smile. "Of course I did, just like most of the warriors of the clan. They probably won't admit it," she said aiming her head to the sky, "But most kits are alike." She laughed and said, "Just dont get into trouble." Then she added, "If you do," she spoke slyly looking around, and then whispered to the kit, "I'll back you up."

Hawkclaw laughed, thinking of other warriors, as kits, playing with their food. Then he said sarcasticly but in a friendly tone," I never played with my food!" Pictures and memories flashed through his mind as he remembered the good old days, getting in to trouble, playing with his food also.

Dragonkit smiled at Moondance, her eyes sparkling. "Thanks, Moondance!" She squeaked, her ears and tail flicking. Then, she turned her eyes to Hawkclaw. "Never, Hawkclaw?" Dragonkit asked, with a faux innocence in her voice. Somehow, she knew that the warrior was lying, though in a playful way. Suddenly, Dragonkit got a grand idea, and grabbed the mouse once more in her jaws. "Catch!" She meowed, tossing it to Hawkclaw.

Hawkclaw put his paw out to catch Dragonkit's mouse. When the mouse came down to the ground, only the tip of the tail brushed by his paw. "Whoops," he meowed, embarised. Then he remembered Dragonkit's reaction to his sarcasim,'Never Hawkclaw?' Then he meowed, "I was only kidding, of coarse every kit plays with their food." Then Hawkclaw picked up Dragonkit's mouse and flicked it over to him.

Rabbitpaw saw her mentor's fur through the protective brambles of the nursery and padded over to him, intent on asking him about training. The sight before her made her stop and smile...she had never imagined Hawkclaw as the playful type before. She shook her head, padding forward again to finish her quest for information. She gave Dragonkit a smile and licked Moondance's ear in respect before turning to her mentor.
"Hawkclaw? I was wondering when we were going to train..." she meowed, suddenly distracted by the young kit. She hadn't even thought twice about kits since she had had the fight over mates with Hawkclaw and Bearpaw, and she was hit with a wave of sadness at the thought that she had hurt her mentor. She smiled at Dragonkit to ease any tension.

Hawkclaw ears turned toward Rabbitpaw as he was thinking. Then he meowed," I guess it's up to you." Then he added,"When do you want to go?"

Dragonkit jumped into the air, and grabbed the mouse. She had tried the move before, many times, but she had never managed to keep ahold of the mouse when she caught it. And, Alas, this was her problem this time. She caught the mouse, but not tightly enough, as it kept going and landed on the ground a little ways away. Her tail twitched in annoyence, but before she could go after the prey, another cat's voice made her look over towards Hawkclaw.
She knew the apprentice was Rabbitpaw, although she had never met her. She knew most of the cats' names in her clan, something she picked up from being as quiet as she could be in company, today being the exception. She smiled back at the apprentice, who seemed nervous, and then listened in. So, the two were going to train? Lucky Rabbitpaw, Dragonkit mused. She wouldn't get to train for another moon, at the least. She couldn't wait to be an apprentice!

Rabbitpaw smiled at Dragonkit as if sensing her thoughts. Her semi-long fur moved slightly in the breeze, making her purr when coupled with the warmth of the sun and the prospect of a good hunt with her mentor.
"I don't know," she replied with ease. "Maybe...windy moores or something?"
She rasped a tongue quickly over her back before turning back to Hawkclaw.

The tip of Hawkclaws tail twitched with annoyance. Then he meowed with a little bit of coldness," Yeah o.k but when?"
