Sparklestorm's grey pelt could be seen through the ferns as she padded over to Winterleaf, swishing her tail among the reeds so her presence was known. She didn't want to startle Winterleaf, for she knew she was on edge lately. She sat down next to the deputy and laid her tail on Winterleaf's back.
"Do you want to talk about it?" she asked carefully. She knew that as an apprentice and even a kit people had always commented her on her ability to listen and comfort, but she didn't know if she still had that ability now as a warrior on shaky ground. She laid down next to Winterleaf, keeping her tail around her.

The cream colored she-cat heaved a silent yawn as she tried to keep her eyes open. "Oh, hello Sparklestorm!" Winterleaf's kind voice spoke awkwardly and wearily as she pressed her muzzle carelessly but smoothingly over the warrior's flank in greet. She shuggered and yawned again. "I don't know, what ever you want to talk about!" the young she-cat purred cheerfully, her gaze still lowered.

Sparklestorm leaned against Winterleaf, her ocean blue eyes full of understanding.
"Seems you've been having some trouble lately," she meowed conversationally but quietly so only her friend would her. She began licking Winterleaf's ears in a gesture of comfort, the tangy river taste getting on her tounge as she waited for a reply.
