Lightningclaw lead Brightpaw to the Moors. He looked around at the spot he had chosen. "Alright Brightpaw lets see how well you can hunt." Lightningclaw meowed at his apprentice.

Brightpaw opened her mouth, and quickley lowered into a crouch. She creeped forward, where she could see a fluffy tail. RABBIT! She waited for the right moment, then pounced. The rabbit struggled to get free, but Brightpaw gripped the rabbit with her claws. She bit the rabbit, to finish it off. Brightpaw carrried the rabbit over to Rainwhisker, and placed it on the ground. "Was that good?" she asked.

"Yes that was very good Brightpaw. Just remember not to wait to long otherwise the prey will have time to try and get away." Lightningclaw meowed to his apprentice. Brightpaw was his first apprentice and he felt honored that even though he wasn't a WindClan born cat that Rainstar now trusted him enough to have an apprentice.

Lightningclaw smiled warmly at his apprentice. She will make a great warrior someday. "Okay Brightpaw try again." he added nodding to the young she-cat.

It took a few heartbeats before another rabbit appeared. it was a lot smaller than the first one she had caught. Brightpaw dashed forward in the hunters crouch, and punced ontop of the rabbit. She sunk her claws deep into it. Then with a swift bite, the rabbit was dead. "I don't think i did much better," Brightpaw meowed sadly, through a mouthful of brown rabbit hair.

"Well you do seem to be improving a bit, and rabbits are not very easy to catch." Lightiningclaw added, trying to encourage the young apprentice.

Brightpaw's tail curled up with joy. Did her mentor really think she was that good to become a warrior? "I wonder what my warrior name would be!" Brightpaw meowed, twitching her tail slightly with the thought. "But i'd miss you as my mentor," she added, "You're the best of them all!"

Lightningclaw chuckled slightly at that. "I'm glad you think that." he meowed. "Now would you like to keep hunting some more or work on your fighting moves?"

"Fighting moves, if that's alright with you," said Brightpaw. "I want to show you a move my mother taught me before she died."

Brightpaw lowered into a crouch and flexed her muscles. She stared into Lightningclaw's gaze, trying to remember what to do. Then in a flash, she ran towards Lightningclaw, heading towards his back. She lept onto it, but was smart enough not to have her claws sheathed. She bit down on his ear lightly. "Was that good?" she asked, jumping off her mentors back. "I couldn't remember all of it."

"Yes, that was very good Brightpaw. Remember that in a real battle to may not have the chance to use it. The best way to over-come an enemy is to knock them down, so pouncing on a enemy bigger then you won't always work. Now try something that will knock me down." Lightningclaw meowed.
