The rays of the mighty sun burned into Dawnflame's pelt. The pretty she-cat walked around the forest, feeling down. Since the day she was made warrior in Windclan, she felt lonelier than ever. The rest of the warriors were out mentoring their apprentices while she was stuck in the camp, doing nothing. She really hoped someone would come up to her for a talk or for help. Nothing could be done so, what can she do? So, she decided to have a walk in the forest.
While walking, she heard a twig snapped. She froze, careful not to make any sudden noise. Just then, a huge creature with orange pelt leapt out of a few bushes beside her. Fox! Barring her teeth, fur bristled and claws unsheathed, she managed to jump out of the way. When the fox had hit the ground, she flexed her claws out to its face, making a long deep scar. But that was not enough! The fox was well fed and huge! “Get out of here, you foxdung!” she hissed.

Nightclaw heard a cat yowl a heartbeat before the putrid smell hit the roof of her mouth; Fox! She raced towards the fox, her nose guiding her. Dawnflame soon came in to view. She seemed to have fewer injuries then the fox, but this was no pup. The fox was full grown, and well-fed. As much as Dawnflame needed to prove herself as a warrior to the Clan, this was not a battle she could win without greatly injuring, or sacrificing herself. Nightclaw screeched towards the fox with her claws extended, and felt a feeling of pride when her claws hit the foxes muzzle, and spattered blood across the clearing. Her pride didn't last long though, for the fox leaped towards her sooner then she expected. She let out a silent screech of terror Starclan help me!

Dawnflame stared at Nightclaw. No! She immediately thought of a plan, trying to distract it. She moved closer to it, silently. When she was sure it was close enough, she stepped out of the bushes and kicked a mount of dirt into its eyes. The fox yowled in pain, as it tried to rub the dirt off. Too bad, because Dawnflame was quick enough.
She immediately jumped on it, making a battle cry. She was lucky to have such strong and big jaws. So, she bit it hard on its neck on the underside. The creature yowled in pain and tried to shake her off. I’m losing my grip! The fox gave one hard shake and its enemy fell to the ground in front of him.
Dawnflamefell to the ground. Her vision was failing. Before blacking out, she saw the fox was injured all over and it was about to dive at her, making an end of her. Am I going to die… or not?

Nightclaw gasped in surprise; the fox had jumped off of her. Thank StarClan! But she didn't relax yet. She knew all about foxes; strong as a dog, and smart as a cat.
It happened fast. Dawnflame had pounced onto the fox, and was grabbing at its neck, when she was shaken off. The fox turned quickly, and was on Dawnflame, ready to make it's kill.
"No!" Nightclaw howled, as she leaped toward the fox. Her call distracted the fox, and as she flung herself at it, she hoped Dawnflame would be able to slip away unharmed, for Nightclaw wouldn't be able to win this battle without her.

Dawnflame managed to creep away. She stood up and gasped at the scene. "Nightclaw!" she howled ans ran towards the fox, pushing it hard to the ground. The fox was knocked over. It knew it could not win this battle,so it fled off.
Dawnflame was delighted at their fight. "We did it!" she meowed. But her left eyes stung because of the scar that fox made. Suddenly, her left eye's vision was failing. "No!" she meowed. "Nightclaw! I can't see! My left eye are failing!" she meowed in panick. Am I going to be blind?

Nightclaw gasped in surprise, as the fox fled away. She realized that Dawnflame had pushed it off her. Thank StarClan!
Nightclaw's prayer was cut short, when Dawnflame wailed in distress. "Quick Dawnflame! We must get you to the medicine cat!" Nightclaw put her tail on Dawnflame's shoulder, trying to guide Dawnflame through the gorse toward their camp. Even though only one eye was failing, Nightclaw knew that Dawnflame would not be used of only using one eye. They limped toward the camp, and Nightclaw prayed with all of her might, that this young, strong warrior could be saved from the pain of only having one eye would cause her.

Dawnflame followed the she-cat as she tried to avoid any obstacles coming in her way. But she tripped over the roots of a tree when trying to keep her visiion. "Oof." she sounded.

Nightclaw gave Dawnflame an encouraging nudge. "Your doing great! If we pick up the pace a little, your eye will be saved for sure!" Nightclaw hoped that Dawnflame couldn't see the fear and doubt in her eyes. She had to be strong for this young warrior. She blinked kindly, and continued on.
