Whisperwind lead the way out of camp. His long, silky fur blew softly in the wind and cooed like baby birds. The shrubs and grass swayed rythmicly like moving creatures and the sun shone high in the bright blue sky. Taking long, deep breathes, the young tom climbed the slope that lead to the moore. His paw steps thudded softly on the sandy dirt and he could hear his companions following. As he reached the top, he basked in the sunlight for a moment, taking everything in. Now completely relaxed, he turned to face his brother and Nightclaw, the sun seemingly glowing from within. "Which way would you like to go?" he asked, gazing into Nightclaw's pretty eyes.

Nightclaw followed Whisperwind closely, the wind blowing his sweet scent towards her. The wind stirred the grass, and the sun beat down on Nightclaw, warming her, and her black coat shimmered in the light. She raced to the top of the moore, and breathed in deeply, and looked around, contented. "Hmmm," Nightclaw thought. "I don't really care, the wind seems to be dying down, so we could catch prey anywhere. I'll go where you go." Nightclaw mewoed. She couldn't figure out why, but when she looked into Whisperwinds shining eyes, she felt different.

He smiled. Happiness flooded through him and though he didn't know why, he didn't really seem to care. "I guess we'll go where Starclan takes us," he replied, a slight chuckle in his voice. His ears twitched slightly and he looked around quickly. A bush nearby was shaking slightly and he crouched, suddenly in hunting mode. As he approached the shirvled shurb, his long tail swung silently back and forth along with his small body. Although he may have looked funny to a cat from another clan, his friends, and especially his brother, knew that when he lowered himself into that position, few creatures could expect to see the light of another day. Like an explosion, he lifted himself into the air with his lean back and fore legs and rushed into the bush. A second later, and he was swiping at the tail of a large, brown hare. This one was special, it was fatter than those usually found in Windclan territory during the cold moons. Just before the creature would have reached its den of safety, the agile tom swiped a deadly claw along its back and sent it tumbling in the dust. Breathing heavily, he returned with the swift creature clenched tightly in his powerful jaws.

Nightclaw was very impressed with Whisperwind's catch. Not only his unique technique ((((haha unique-technique))))) but the hare he caught. It was the biggest one she'd seen in a long time. She smiled when he carried it back. She wasn't sure really why she was happy, but she didn't care; being happy was a luxury she hadn't had for a long time. Nightclaw scanned the gorse, looking for any movement. This was made easier when the wind calmed down again. Suddenly the gorse twitched. Nightclaw looked closer and saw a hare feeding. Hop, step, feed, hop, step, feed, Nightclaw memorized the rabbits pattern. She slowly crept up to the young hare, moving only when it bent its head to feed. She was almost there when she stepped too soon and the rabbit saw her. It took off, but Nightclaw was right behind it. Her adrenaline was rushing. It was the highlight of her hunt; the chase. Her quick strides lessened the gap between her and the hare. She pounced and landed on the hare. The impact of Nightclaw landing on it had been enough to crack the hare's neck. A clean kill. Nightclaw thought proudly. She trotted back to Whisperwind and lay her kill down. Though it was much smaller then the normal hare, it was very muscular and would be a healthy choice for a queen or elder. She had that happy feeling in the pit of her stomach when she looked into Whisperwind's eyes, but she couldn't figure out why. She dismissed the thought.

ooc:that was funny Whisperwind had burried the rabbit to be picked up later after the group was done, and watched Nightclaw closely. She was an excellent hunter, her perfect form and technique were compromised only by her eagerness to catch the hare. With speed and endurance she caught it anyway, and Whisperwind nodded in admiration at her swift and clean kill. His adrenaline was high as well, the chase was an envigorating way to put your problems in the back of your mind. "Nice catch!" he said, pride shining in his eyes, "Would you like me to burry it for you? That way nothing will take it while we go and catch more." Always the gentleman, he indicated his own burried rabbit where a small lump protected it from hunting birds. Specklespot watched the proceedings with a knowing smile. He'd sat back and watched as the two tried to impress eachother, laughing inwardly at their cuteness. He determined he'd catch more if he was on his own, and these two might actually be able to get to know eachother better without Whisperwind's brother peering over their shoulders. "I'd gonna head that way," he told the pair, "we'll be able to catch more if we split up." Without waiting for an aswer, he trotted in the opposite direction, a smirk on his handsome features. As he dissapeared into a nearby bush, the last thing the pair saw of him was the black tip of his long tail twitching before dissapearing after him.

(((haha what ignorant cats! = P well besides Specklespot)))
"Thank you!" purred Nightclaw, embarrased with Whisperwind's praise. "And it would be very kind of you if you could please burry my prey" Nightclaw immitated his kind character. She immediatly wished she could take it back. She didn't want him to think that she was trying to be mean. Nightclaw was trying to be polite, it just came out wrong. What are you doing? The thoughts in the back of Nightclaw's mind screamed. You never used to worry about that kind of stuff! What happened to you? You're letting one cat change who you are? Nightclaw cut the thoughts out with another thought Why be mean if there's no reason to be? She then realized that she was arguing with herself, and ignored the argument screaming inside of her head. She noticed Specklespot going off in the opposite direction, to hunt by himself. Nightclaw smiled at Whisperwind, hoping he would know that what she said wasn't meant to be mean.

ooc:yah I know, I am having too much fun with this to be healthy XD
A coy smile spread across his face, a look that rarely appeared there. He was thoroughly enjoying himself and unlike Nightclaw, he agreed wholeheartedly with what he was doing. "Well thank you for your permission," he said, playing along and bowing slightly, "it gives me great pleasure to be of service." He took her rabbit delicately in his jaws and set to work. In moments a nice little hole was ready and waiting besides his own burried rabbit as he dropped the young prey into the hole. With his strong paws, he dragged the dirt back over the hole and neatly covered hre catch. "Let's make a bet," he said, his bright eyes shining, "whom ever catches the most today will be groomed by whom ever catches the least." His hearted thudded quickly in his breast, and although it was partly because of the adrenaline of the hunt, Whisperwind knew that wasn't the only reason. "So?" he asked, hopeful, "What do you say? Up to the challenge?"

ooc: hahaha. me too.
Nightclaw laughed. She was glad Whisperwind didn't think she was trying to be mean. When Nightclaw heard his bet idea, she sighed. "Why did I have to be born with the curse of not being able to back down to a competition?" She joked. "You're on. I wouldn't mind not having to groom myself. Especially by a handesome tom." Mousedung. Nightclaw thought. Did i just say that out loud? Well who cares? I'm allowed to say what I think, right? Oh StarClan! Do I really think that? "There's just this one thing," Nightclaw purred. "Its going to be awfully hard to hunt with you injury." OOC: I know he doesn't have an injury right now, Nightclaw is just saying that, she knows too haha. Because me and Nightclaw know different things = P

Whisperwind was embarrassed by her compliment. He flattened his ears to his head (and if cats could blush, he most definately would be right now). There was something about this wonderful cat that made him carefree. He was being much more outgoing and playful than he usually was, something that in the past only Specklespot could accomplish. Few cats saw this side of the young tom, but those who did saw him in a different light than all the rest. "Oh yah," he replied, raising an eyebrow, "and what injury would that be?"

"This one!" Nightclaw meowed as she playfully tackled Whisperwind to the ground. Her eyes were full of laughter, something that hadn't happened in a long time. Thats when it hit her. she loved him. How could this be happening to her? She couldn't help it though. Whisperwind just made her so happy, she could hardly contain it.

Whisperwind was pinned to the ground by Nightclaw's powerful paws. With a gleeful chuckle, he made no effort to get up. He gazed up into her shining, happy eyes and couldn't look away. The inner, and outer, beauty that she had captivated him. "You've got me," he said, and, almost as if it was an afterthought, he raised his furry head ever so slightly, and softly licked her cheeck. ooc:that's fine, look forward to it

Nightclaw purred, and blushed. (((as much as a cat can blush = P ))) She bent down and licked his cheek back. She had that happy, warm feeling at the bottom of her stomach. Now it was not only the sun warming her up, but it was also Whisperwind's warm gaze. She shot her head up and scouted the area, without releasing her grip on Whisperwind. "Well,"Nightclaw meowed casually, "I've got a contest to win." Nightclaw bolted away from Whisperwind, her eyes glittering playfully. She quickly brought down an unsuspecting hare, too busy caught up in eating to notice her until it was too late. She looked back and called out "You'd better get hunting if you want to win!" Playfully, she added, "And you'll have to use those handy digging skills of yours!"

ooc:can cat's blush? ours can anyway XD
Whisperwind rolled onto his side and watched her. It was so hard to look away, but if he wanted to win, he didn't have much of a choice. Leaping up, he too got to his feet. "Cheater," he taunted playfully, "you better watch you're back, you never know what's around the corner." His large ears flicked behind him, and a second later he was in his signature crouch. Disappearing behind a nearby bush, he emerged with a furry squirrel. Spitting out the hair, he added it to the small pile the pair had made and smiled challengingly at his new love. His new love, he never thought he'd think that. Many of the she-cats found him to be fair and senseable, but too quiet to their liking. They'd always preferred his brother. But not Nightclaw, he could see the way she felt about him in her glistening eyes. Never in a million moons would he hurt a cat like her.
