JadeEyes shook off her fur and led her apprentice into the marsh. "I am sorry your training is delayed. I will train you better. You will be able to choose which we start with." She said smiling brightly.

Russetpaw looked up at his mentor, his bright eyes clouded over with confusion, "I don't know what to start with" he meowed as he stared at the gound. Then his tail lifted "the boundaries! can we please!" he meowed sitting on his haunches with his paws on Jadeeyes shoulder. He playfully batted her ear and his bright amber eyes once again glowed with eagerness.

JadeEyes smiled and laughed. "Of course we can," she said. Then she flicked her tail and said, "You lead, smell your way."

Russetpaw's nose lifted high up in the air. He opened his mouth letting all the scents waft around his mouth and nose. His eyes were closed, after a minute he meowed "that way is Riverclan" he said indicating with his paw, "and over there is where one of our patrol marked our territory" he finished pointing his tail in the direction of the scent. He looked back at his mentor, hoping that he hadn't missed anything. Then he smelled it, she was testing him, "you marked your scent over by that tree" he said to her his amber eyes big and round in surprise.

"Yes," she said. "Would you like to head back to camp and apply for a patrol?" she said. "Perhaps a border patrol even?" She questioned, her eyebrows raised.

Russetpaw's eyes flickerd with delight. "of course!" he answered. A border patrol would be so much fun! "can we go right now!" he asked as he purred.

Russetpaw quickly turned around, running through the trees intill he reached the camp. He heard Jadeeyes behind him and he slowed so he could walk wth her.
((how do we organise a patrol? hehe))

"okay" mewed Russetpaw looking up at his mentor with his amber eyes that were full of questions. Instead of asking first he respectfully dipped his head to her signaling that she could go first. "What would you like to know?"

"Did you ever like anyone, like when you were an apprentice?" he mewed staring a a leaf floating through the air. He crouched and pounced on it before looking back at her curiously.

JadeEyes sighed. "No, but I had a best friend by my sid always.... and I guess it was puppy love a bit. His name was Patchpaw." She shrugged her shoulders. "Anythign else?"

"Do you ever wish" he pausedglancing at his red paws thoughtlly "Do you ever wish that you could have been born in another clan?" he was unsure what she would reply, "and ummm, your turn" he grinned.
