Iceflower thought silently, alone in her den. She had a high rank among her clan, and it was her duty to warn them of dangers. She hadn't been to the moonpool in a long time...maybe she would ask her leader to go soon. She closed her eyes, and her vision was suddenly filled with stars. She saw herself standing in an empty field, only guided by the star's light. A she-cat padded over to her, touching noses respectfully. She didn't recognize the cat, but she knew it was someone important.
"Who are you?"
she asked demandingly although gentle, and her eyes blinked in surprise as she realized the rasp was no longer present in her voice. The she-cat looked at her, although she gave no answer. Iceflower turned her head to follow the she-cat's line of sight, and was shocked to see the apprentice ceremony for a 6 moon old kit, so full of stamina and youth. She blinked her eyes, not recognizing the kit. As if her mind had been read, the she-cat meowed for the first time since Iceflower had arrived.
"Shes yours."
Iceflower whipped her head to glare at the strange she-cat, but she was met with a level headed gaze, telling her the cat wasn't lying, nor was she willing to argue. She sighed, not understanding how it would happen but trusting Starclan in their decision. Her eyes opened again and she was back in her den, water dripping in the corner. She suddenly missed the open air of the field, and padded out into the camp, the night air surrounding her like the blackness. She looked up at Starclan, and sent a silent prayer to help her understand.
