[Wolfsong]

Silverkit watched her mother leave, as she did she realized that she was very lucky to have a mother and a father who both loved them and each other. Then she was suddenly bowled over, seeing a flash of ginger.

Raykit scrambled back up, "I'm sorry Silverkit, I was fighting with Flamekit and Sunkit." Then he realized what she was loking at and a small shadow darkened his face, had he imagined the night before? Or was he just tired and it had never happened... Raykit shook his head and swiped a sheathed claw close to his brothers face.

[Raven]

The scrawny black kitten stayed hidden in the shadows. Her dull ugly amber eyes bitter. The runty orphan kitten plotted her leadership. Because one day she would be better then everyone. One day she wouldn't need a mother to comfort her. Like she had one anyway. She had moons to plan her leadership. She blinked herself back from her daydream. New kits. Like she cared. Ravenkit was hardened. She didn't need friends.

[Wolfsong]

"Hi Ravenkit, do you want to play?" Silverkit asked, she thought the black kit would make a good friend.

"Yeah, good idea Silverkit. Ravenkit, do you want to be one of the great Clan leaders?" Raykit meowed, hoping Flamekit wouldn't object, or Dapplekit for that matter.

[Raven]

Ravenkit narrowed her eyes in disgust at the thought of play. The constantly sick kit coughed. They obviously making fun of her. For she could easily lose to both kits. They were both two moons older then her. "I'd rather not, I'll just watch" she growled in sopisticated tones for one so young. Ravenkit had truley worked on her words.

[Wolfsong]

Raykit couldn't help but giggle, he knew Ravenkit wasn't pretty but is she would open up, she would have tons of friends. Then he backed away, ashamed but then thought that Flamekit and Dapplekit would be laughing thier fur off.

Silverkit glared with eyes like a blazing green fire at Raykit, then pushed him hard enough to make him lose his balence. "Don't mind them. I think you'd make a great friend. I think it's good to have many friends, even if they don't come from your Clan. Do you want to be friends?"

Raykit could only stare, terrified. Those eyes, those eyes. That was the same look my father had when he... Did he really do that to his mother? How could he though, he's never tried to hurt us...

Breezepaw entered the nursery careful, and curiously but discreetly watching around, she coked her head slightly, it had been long since she had been there. She looked towards the entrance waiting for the others, without noticing the kits.

[Wolfsong]

Silverkit glanced at Breezepaw, then turned back to Ravenkit.

Raykit lurched as he say his mother coming, should she ask about it? "Hi Breezepaw."]

Brightleaf only went as far as the entrence, then beckoned Breezepaw to come closer. "Without you asking any questions, did you see anything on my shoulder?"

"Hello." Breezepaw whispered to the kit and then stood up and approached the queen, she shook her head at her question but added, "It just seemed weird to me that you had your tail in that position..." She meowed, but knew she was hiding something.

[Wolfsong]

Brightleaf was silent for a few moments, her head looking up at Silverpelt. Her eyes became unusally bright, then she blinked and looked down. "Do you want to see the kits?" She said in a cheerful voice.

Raykit narrowed his eyes, he had never seen his mother do that before and it sent a chill through his body.

"Um, sure." She meowed quietly, "I am just too--" She didn't dare to add timid, or not very social, but she eyed the queen, and padded towards the kits. She noticed Raykit and wondered, then her eyes passed to Silverkit, and then to the small black kit, Ravenkit, "Hello little warriors." She meowed uncomfortably trying to make a conversation.

[Wolfsong]

The two sibling bounded over, "Hi!! What's your name? Are you an apprentice?"

Brightleaf smiled and for a moment she put her tail high in the air, exposing her shoulder. Then she got up and padded just inside the nursery. "Ravenkit, I hope you know that your just as much my kit as Flamekit, Raykit, Sunkit, Silverkit, and Dapplekit. We all love you and I don't want you to forget that." Then she put her tail across the small kits shoulders.

Breezepaw couldn't help a small smile scape her lips, seen such warmth and affection from a queen and her kits. Her mood raised a little at that sight, and she laughed inside as the kits made a dozen questions at a time. "Yes, I am an apprentice." She meowed, "My name... Breezepaw."

[Wolfsong]

Wolfpaw had just caught up and stared at Brightleaf's shoulder, it was bruised and had a deep cut on it. "What happened?" She asked quietly.

Brightleaf turned, horror in her eyes, something she never ever had in her eyes. She made her eyes turn bright again, "One of the kits did that, well maybe all." She forced a smile and covered it back up.

Raykit couldn't move, he was right. He had seen what happened. But he couldn't tell anyone until he told his mother that he knew.

"Hi Breezepaw, my name is Silverkit." Silverkit meowed, glad to make a friend besides her brothers and sister.

Breezepaw turned her head to see who arrived, but Wolfpaw's words made her turn and she noticed the queen's shoulder, with a mixture of anxiety and uncertainty. She narrowed her eyes, "That doesn't look as if the kits did it..." She thought and not to tell the queen was just not telling the entire truth she meowed, "Don't you think you need a medicine cat?"

[Wolfsong]

"No it's fine, come on kits. Time for your bedtime." Brightleaf said, getting nervous. "I'm so sorry if that explaination was not good enough but that's what happened ok." Brightleaf couldn't look the apprentices in the eye, and when she went into the nursery, not looking to see if her kits followed. Her tail dragged in the dust and she licked her shoulder before she put her head down in misery disguised as happiness.

Raykit stared, then went right back to Breezepaw and Wolfpaw and whispered, terrified. "Why''d she say that? It wasn't us who did that!"

Silverkit looked at the sky, it was still a light grey out, just enough to see all the stars. It wasn't thier bedtime yet, and why was her mother acting wierd? "I'll tell Fireclaw, he'll know why."
