because your real friends know its not true and thats all that matters. Let those idiots believe what they want, in fact its fun to laugh at their stupidity. Bullies, or in this case gossipers strive for a reaction, don't give them a reaction, and they will move on. Gossipers gossip about people because they don't have anything better to do and are maybe trying to deal with their own problems. If none of these work a simple practical joke can be a beautifully effective way to rid yourselves of the people! ;D (but I think that fourth grade girl was out of line and deserved to be insulted, and we all love you winter!!)
