Prologue

In the darkness of night, where there were very little trees, little water, and many Two-leggs, sat an elderly silver tom. What he was sitting on was unbelieveable, he was sitting on a hill of bones. This cat had stolen the idea from an old Clan he used to belong to called SilenceClan. He thought the name was waek, so he started a whole new clan called DeathClan when he was very young. The new DeathClan gained members alarmingly fast and soon attacked SilenceClan. DeathClan took over what miserable bits of land they owned. DeathClan became the most fearsome Clan in all the Clans cats history, even BloodClan.
This tom had been thier leader for many moons but he was now old and he knew that soon he would get overthrown, and not by a cat he wanted as leader. This was why the tom had summoned his Clan here tonight, atop of this hill of bones, in the complete blackness of the night.
The silver tom finally opened his eyes, his eyes alone were enough to scare a kit into killing itself, they were blood-red. The tom stood on his pile of bones and started addressing his Clan, "I know a lot of you have been wondering weather I step down down from my leadership or continue my rien." He stared at one paticular cat, this cat had been wanting to be leader for a long time, "I will tell you that I have decided to step down." At his words, dozens of cats voiced thier opinion.
A white she-cat meowed, "You can't, you have always been leader."
"What do you know," a dark grey tom snarled at the white she-cat, "You've only just joined. I say let me take over for the old fool. I could lead this clan on to greatness!"
A black tom with black eyes and white pupils growled, "How dare you talk about my father like that, he is Blood, the life source of this Clan, Rock." The black tom unsheathed his claws, "You need to learn your place."
The silver tom named Blood yowled, "Enough!" He stared at each cat around him, "I have already chosen the cat to take my place. This cat has proven himself over and over."
Rock, the dark grey tom's eyes glowed with ambition. He had wanted this postion forever.
"The new leader will be Death. Not only is he my son but he is strong, quick, skilled, and very smart. He will make a good leader for DeathClan." Blood had pride in his frightening gaze, "Now I will join the elders." Blood half jumped, hald fell of of his pile of bones.
Death leaped easily onto the Bone Pile, the black eyed cat said, "I am honored that I got this position. I never thought I would to be honest--"
Rock yowled, "No you knew you would get this postion. Plus why would a DeathClan leader want to be honest? I know that if I was leader--"
"Silence!" Death hissed, "You are not leader and never will be. I am leader now!"
Rock glared at Death and slunk off back to his nest in the warriors den, he was fuming.
Death continued, "I will now choose a deputy and a medicine cat, something my father never did." Death saw Blood narrow his eyes, slightly angered but proud that his son knew what to do, "We all know we need a medicine cat to heal us, so this cat will be Precious." A silver tabby with blue eyes stepped forward and nodded. Then Death turned toward a dark tabby with amber eyes, "Eagle, you have been my friend for as long as I can remember. I know I can trust you to be deputy." The huge powerful tabby named Eagle stepped forward next to Precious and dipped his head. Death yowled loudly, indicating that the meeting was over. He thought, now I can make this Clan the way I want it to be.

Chapter 1

In the starlight, a black and white tom sat in a clearing, he knew he was dreaming because it was leaf-bare and all the grass had already died. The tom breathed deeply, he knew he was supposed to scent something, he did but the scent was unfamiliar. At that same moment, a blazing orange tom padded calmly over to the black and white tom. The tom knew instantly who this strange cat was with the flame colored pelt, bright green eyes, and starlight all over his paws. "Firestar!" The tom gasped, knowing all the stories of how the brillant leader had saved the Clans individually, then all together by defeating BloodClan and helping them move to thier new homes.
Firestar nodded, then said, "Great danger is coming and I am here to give you a prophecy, Swiftstar."
The black and white tom named Swiftstar nodded, not liking this at all. He listened to Firestar as he continued,

Death and destruction is coming,
Greater than any cat has ever seen,
They can never be defeated but only stopped,
Trunk, plant, sharpness, and cat
Can only save all.

Swiftstar felt a chill down his spine, "What does the prophecy mean?" But Firestar was already fading. Swiftstar heard a hiss and turned to see a black cat as big as a horse, leaping toward him. The panthers eyes as black and deadly as the night that had now covered the moons. The black panther's claws outstretched and dripping with blood...


The ThunderClan leader opened his eyes wide with terror, what had the panther meant? He thought, did it mean the death and destuction? Swiftstar got up and stretched, then padded toward his medicine cat's den, maybe the pretty she-cat would know what the panther and the trunk, plant, sharpness, and cat meant, "Hazelpool?"
A beautiful young golden she-cat with hazel eyes padded out of her den, "Yes Swiftstar?" Hazelpool said in a concerned voice, "What is it?"
Swiftstar quickly told Hazelpool about the prophecy and the outstretched paws of the black panther, "What do you think it means?"
Hazelpool was thinking very deeply, '' I don't know what the death and destuction means but I think we should figure out what's going to save us first.'' Hazelpool looked at Swiftstar, ''It's obvious that one cat alone will save but I wonder why firestar said trunk, plant, and sharpness.''
Swiftstar thought, ''Maybe the cat has sharp claws and teeth?''
"That would not make any sense though, all cats have sharp claws and teeth." The golden she-cat meowed.
"Maybe they meant something else. Do you think any other Clans know?" Swiftstar asked his wise medicine cat.
Hazelpool looked intently on Swiftstar, "I think we are the first clan to know, this prophecy is too important to have only one Clan leader know about it."
Swiftstar nodded grimly, "We will find out tomorrow, I will go to WindClan territory and find out if Leafstar knows anything about this prophecy."
Hazelpool said nothing but deep inside she thought it was a bad idea.
