Following a Dream

Duskkit was sick of staying in camp or in the nursery. She wanted to be out of her own. I can be on my own she thought to her self. When most of the clan members were out of camp Duskkit decided that she would leave then. As Duskkit sat by the entrance of the nursery she looked out in to the clearing. She saw only a few cats running around doing chores. It is time Duskkit thought. I will show everyone that i am not just a little kit she thought angrily. Slowly she headed to the entrance tunnel. As she was in the thorn tunnle Duskkit look around the marvelis tunnle, since his was her first time in here. At the end of the tunnle light filtered in. Finnally she was out of there and then she dashed off toward the stream as fast as her little kit legs would carrie her. Once she got there she was jumping for joy. This is just like my dream! Duskkit looked in to the water and saw small glittering fish speeding past. She shot her paw in like she heard the apprentices brag about. Her small paw hit a sharp rock and she cried out in pain. All of a sudden she saw a HUGE fish swimming slowly past. Duskkit tried again and shot her paw once more into the icy cold water. She felt her paw brush against the scaly fish, she sunk her small claws in. The fish jolted away pulling Duskkit along with it. Duskkit tried and tried to pull free and she finnaly did. Blood clung to her claws and was washed off in the icy water. She soon relized that she was in the river! She called out in her high pitched kit meows for help. Time pasted and she thought that a patrol should of came by now but she driffted on still calling.

Sparklepaw, her paws running at full speed, lunged into the river. She grabbed Duskkit by the scruff of her neck and started to tug gently. Her paws padded madly, trying to reach the sand. Her claws dug into the bank, and when she was sure it was safe, she dropped Duskkit onto the ground before pulling herself up. She shook as much of the water as she could onto the ground before she looked at Duskkit.

"Are you ok?"
she asked, concern over-riding her anger.

It didn't take long for Duskkit to realize that Sparklepaw had jumped in from the Thunderclan side of the river.

Duskkit looked at her recuer and didn't know who in starclan was that. Her eyes turned from exausted to anger filled. "Who are you," she hissed angrily. Her pelt bristling a little but not a lot since she was soaked.

[{Snarky}]

Sparklepaw batted a sheathed paw over Duskkit's ear.

"Sparklepaw, silly. Your mother's apprentice."
She wondered for a few moments why she would ask such a question before it came to her. Duskkit must have realized where she had come from. She thought for a few seconds so she could cover for herself, but could only manage to come up with a weak lie.

"I was chasing a rabbit and it ran over the border. I didn't even realize where I was...I must have ignored the scent markers."
She gave Duskkit a small smile, licking the river water off of her pelt.

"oh sorry," Duskkit replied ashamedly. "So you don't know where the scent markers are you silly furball,"Duskkit teased.

[{Snarky}]

Sparklepaw laughed weakly.

"Yeah. Silly me. Let's get you back to camp,"
she meowed, pushing slightly with her nose. There was no way she could let Duskkit, or anyone for that matter know the truth. No one would understand, except Rosethorn.

Sparklepaw came to a decision. She would tell Rosethorn about what was happening. She had to get it off of her chest, and she knew her mentor would understand.

"Oh o.k, will i get into trouble?" Duskkit asked.

[{Snarky}]

"Not much. You will get in a bit of trouble with your mom, though."
she laughed as they padded toward camp.

[~*hawkclaw*~]

"Oh," Duskkit said. The she padded after Sparklepaw, her dream vanishing to dispair.
