How about eagleclaw again. The kit can wander into shadowclan territory, trying to prove she can go on adventures and then eagleclaw is wandering, thinking about his horrible life, when he sees it. Then it looks like his mother, whom he hates because she almost killed him as a kit and then she says something and he kills her savagely like you said, yet he keeps it secret and returns the body right outside the riverclan enterance. Does that sound good?
