"Hi.." She said to Hawkpaw, then Breezepaw looked down at her paws, she murmured some almost inaudible excuses that were meant for Darkwing. Then mewed "Well.. um, I'll get going... luck with your training Hawkpaw." She looked at the deputy and began padding slowly to the camp.

“Wait!” Hawkpaw called after her. He quickly spun to meet the eyes of his mentor. “Couldn’t she join training to, just this once?” He met Darkwing’s eyes evenly, in an almost pleading way. He couldn’t let his friend just walk away! The look in her eyes were sad, and her felt a stab in his heart. His fiery eyes held a soft touch, as he glanced from Breezepaw to Darkwing, his gaze hopeful.

Darkwing c. ocked his head to the side, feeling reluctant. Breezepaw always kept her feelings back and seemed almost cold when she didn't answer whole-heartedly or direct. Being a warrior meant more than being strong. It required patience, loyalty, and determination. Sighing, Darkwing looked to the sky, hoping to catch a glimpse of Skyheart of among the clouds.
"All right," he mewed.

Hawkpaw’s fiery eyes lightened. “Thanks!” He mewed to Darkwing, a twinge of pure joy in his smile. He bounded up to Breezepaw an batted at her with a energetic paw. He winked, and walked backed up to his mentor and bowed his head briefly in respect. The spirited apprentice gave a little laugh of delight.

"Well then..." the deputy began, sitting down and wrapping his tail around his paws. "Breezepaw, I need to know what level of your training you are up to. And maybe," his eyes flashed in mocked scorn at his apprentice, "it's this little spitfire's weakness." It would do Hawkpaw some good to brush on on some of his more lower points. That included self control.

Breezepaw padded towards the two cats with a weak smile on her face, inside she was shaking with fear but she wouldn't let it show, Breezepaw didn't consider herself as a good fighter, in fact she had barely practiced fighting, she prefered hunting.

"Breezepaw?" Darkwing repeated, his voice laced wit irritation. "Well, we're working on battle moves right now. I believe you can learn a few more, and I'm teaching some things to Hawkpaw that you will find no where else, so listen closely." Darkwing decided for a little test, so, wiggling his rump, launched himself at Hawkpaw again, eager for his reaction.

Out of the corner of his eye he could see Darkwing’s lithe body rocketing towards him. He gave an amused mew, and quickly spun out of the way, but was chipped in the shoulder which sent him flying back. He was on his feet in moments, calculating his best move. His eyes alight with laughter, quickly flashed as he propelled himself at his mentor.

Darkwing hissed as he landing, then jumped in the air again as Hawkpaw landed down into his side. Giving a warning nick to his leg, the mentor jumped off. "Look at my size! Hawkpaw, you're very agile with a magnificent body in order for such things. If you can avoid me, then avoid me!" Darkwing sent him against his apprentice.

Hawkpaw was surprised. Was that a compliment hidden in those fierce words? He smiled mischievously. The attempted to stand upright. Darkwing’s words were pounding in his head. He looked at his mentor, wondering if he should attack again, but it was to late. He leaped through the air toward his right shoulder, then moments before impact came low into his chest.

Darkwing sheathed his claws as he made a successful blow to his apprentice's shoulder. "Try to avoid, as I have said. I'm much to big to try and take on for battle, so dodging and using a counter attack is a great weapon. Surprise, Hawkpaw surprise." With another growl, Darkwing started to circle the tom with his teeth bared and his claws retracting in and out. "Learn to think quickly."

Breezepaw sat attentively watching the fight, she tried to absorb every movement and every word the wise WindClan deputy said to his apprentice...

Hawkpaw nodded, as he continued to circle, watching his mentor warily. This time he would not be the one to make the first move, instead he waited, watching to see what his mentor would do next.

Good, thought Darkwing. He's learning. To push him on, Darkwing raised his hackles threatningly, and with a swift movement, yowled, and hurled himself at his aprentice his pelt ribbling from the awkwards change of footing as he observed. He growled to make it more realisitic, and this time came out with his claws unsheathed to know how serious Hawkaw had to learn.

Breezepaw's pelt bristled alarmingly as she saw the deputy unsheathe his claws, she thought the fight was getting really severe for being just a practice. She gasped loudly and a tiny yowl scaped her.
