Miserystrike strongly disliked the idea of being thought as an apprentice, but did not question furthur. A tiny flame of happiness was swelling in her chest, dawning over the negativity in her heart. She was going to be accepted! An "apprentice" maybe, but a RiverClan apprentice at the least. Unsure why, and maybe hopeful, she looked up at Palestar and around the cats, her eyes sparkling, daring anyone to jide a comment... though she stayed close to Frozencreek.
Silvertip slipped out of the warrior's den at the sound of the new RiverClan leader's voice. What could it be now? Not another attack, really. But the tortoiseshell-pelted warrior took a place close to the High Rock, a position usually taken by elderly and respected warriors, but did not think much about it. She instantly noticed a new scent in the clearing, one that was not RiverClan. Turning her head, she spotted a golden-tabby she-cat, her spine stiff and her eyes dark, clinging like a lovestruck kitten to Frozencreek. "Who is this?"

Dewpaw had arrived earlier than the other cats of the patrol Frozencreek took with him, she had been there but her anger at him allowing the rogue to come made her run away. She had been hiding and watching quietly but indignantly at what the older warriors and her leader decided. She decided to get out of her hiding place and passed between the other warriors gathering around the high rock, she gently flicked her tail slightly touching Darkpaw's back and then padded on towards her mentor, Silvertip sitting besides her, no matter that the place was supposed to be for wiser and more experienced warriors. "That is a rogue Frozencreek found on our border.. and that was allowed to come and join.. as.. as.. if the clan were sooo weak or something!" She answered with an unnecessary loud tone, her voice trying to retain the anger.

Darkpaw heared what Dewpaw said and padded over. "Dewpaw...." he said with a doubtful look. He didn't want her to act that way about the rogue. "Hello, my name is Darkpaw, you're going to be an apprentice, right? I'm on, I'd love to share the den with you!"

"My fellow Clanmates, we have a new warrior who wishes to make RiverClan her place in the forest. She is known as Miserystrike, but I don't see that a fitting name for her. She was part of DarkClan, but is no longer. If I may, she will recieve a new warriors name once she has been part of RiverClan for one moon. No one will object to her. She will be known as friend and not as an enemy any longer. If anyone does not treat our new warrior fairly, they will answen to me," Palestar added forcefully. She knew she must take her new leadership with an iron claw, but knew that her Clan no longer needed to be coddled in her paws. They would stand stong once more.

Ebonyashes padded over to "Miserstrike". She said shyly, "Hello. I am Ebonyashes and I was new here about a moon ago. Its tough."she added.

"Yes, and now she is a RiverClan warrior with a home. I believe that you enjoy it here now, right Ebonyashes?" Palestar asked her young warrior.

Ebonyashes looked up at her leader. A lump forming in her throat. Her stay hadn't been good. "Of course." she grumbled quickly.

Silvertip sternly nosed her apprentice in the shoulder. "Be respectful! Or at least keep quiet. This cat came to us for sanctuary and was humble enough to learn our ways. You should be more amazed than angry."
Miserystrike bowed her head, addressing Ebonyashes shyly, though she did supply a proud gleam. "I understand toughness, I'll get over it." That, Miserystrike had. The shocking truth that she had to fend for herself when her father was murdered, it made her all the more colder and hard as a rock. Turning to Frozencreek, she almost robotically asked, "Mind showing me around the territory? As an escort."

"I'm sorry..." Dewpaw meowed to her mentor with a fake voice. She gave a cold glare of her turquoise eyes to Darkpaw and a small tear escaped her. She looked away from the other cats, too proud to be noticed crying. She was angry, sad and confused. I thought the clans were supposed to be loyal.. to defend their territory. The fact that Darkpaw did not agree with her hurt her them most. "Why do I even care for that-- that mouse-brain!" She thought, but she knew that she felt a strong affection for him... maybe more than she would have liked. She looked at her mentor through the corner of her eyes and this time meowed a muffled but real, "sorry."

A coy smile crept across Frozencreek's white face. "Of course; I would be glad to show you the territory. After all, soon it will be yours to defend from our rival Clans," he said cooly. He was determined to make a good impression on Miserystrike, or atleast become her friend. He felt confident in his abilities to make her swoon over him, but perhaps over confident. "Follow me..." he called as he led the way out of the RiverClan camp and into its vast territory that followed the river.

Miserystrike couldn't help but let a faint shine of happiness gleam in her eyes before following the tom away into her new home. The river probably amazed her the most. Miserystrike had never seen so much water gushing in one place at a time, especially enough for the entire Clan to hunt in. Or maybe it was just the ripples of the water that took her eyes away, back to Frozencreek with a mock grin of suspicion. "Now, don't let me get in the way of your buisness, but me being an apprentice, I need some sort of mentor."

Frozencreek laughed. "You don't need a mentor! Plus, I'm nearly the same age as you," he meowed. He would gladly have accepted if Miserystrike had been a true apprentice instead of a warrior. "You don't have to train or anything, just watch us and learn our ways. If you like, you can accomany me and my apprentice Darkpaw when we go out and you can help me train him..." he suggested happily. He felt something strange for Miserystrike. He longed for her to need him with every fiber of her being, but the chances... They did not look good, mainly because of his moon swings. They were like some sort of personality disorder that he wanted to control but was too far a reach for him to handle. He silently sighed to himself.

Miserystrike didn't say anything for a minute, focusing mainly on the reedy stream of water and the fronds that protruded from the rocks below. They reminded her of some Twoleh food. But throughout her daze, she was considering Frozencreek's act of politeness, even attraction, if you wanted to call it. While Miserystrike was uncertain of her feelings, she did enjoy the idea of patrolling with the young warrior. Maybe, possibly, in watching him train his apprentice, she could learn some moves herself! Turning to him, she blinked bright golden eyes. "I'd love to."

Frozencreek was delighted by her response. "Alright then, we'll take Darkpaw out tomorrow, perhaps. Let's keep moving," he began to walk toward the borders. He followed the scent trails. "You know the other Clan's scents, correct?"

Ebonyashes looked away as the cat left. These cats... none of them... wanted to make friends. They think Im wierd. But nobody knows me. I am bright and cheerful!
