Darkpaw tried to hurry after Frozencreek, but he saw a single tear escape Dewpaw's eyes. Scared, her walked over to her. "Dewpaw, I'm sorry, but, I just want to wlecome her, even though she's a rogue," he said. "I don't think we can trust her either, but if we welcome her, maybe we can." He added. His dark pelt touched Dewpaw's, and her gave her an affectionic(Sp?) lick, then flinched, not knowing what she might do to react.

Miserystrike stopped to pause for the apprentice to catch, well aware she was a bit embarrassed that Frozencreek was giving her some patience with questions. She knew quite well that half of the Clan had not faith or trust in her, but Miserystrike would try her best to prove them wrong, or at least value her strength and experience. Now, she thought, back to her training. "I know ShadowClan's scent well, and tidbits of ThunderClan. But I'm afraid that WindClan escapes me."

Dewpaw looked at him with an unreadable expression. Her first impulse was to yell at him, to tell him how much she hated him and what a stupid mouse-brain he was-- but of course that was not true, but she did not want to admit how especial he is for her, how comforting his presence, even with his bossy attitude, she had a feeling she was unable to utter. She leaned on him, her turquoise eyes closing, feeling the warmth of his dark pelt, "I am sorry that I am being so foolish... Darkpaw."

"Well, you'll get that soon enough," Frozencreek assured Miserystrike. "Everyone has their reasons to doubt your loyalty, but it is your newfound duty to prove them wrong. If anything, know that I believe that when the time comes, your loyalty my prove stronger than even the pure RiverClan cats..." he said in a hushed tone so that others might not hear him if they cam near. He knew it; he just did.

Miserystrike could not help the glow of warmth that swelled in chest, forcing her to look away in shy embarrassment. She didn't want to turn soft in front of these Clan cats, even Frozencreek, who seemed to have accepted her better than Palestar. A glint of hardness returned to her voice. "I'm quite used to being distrusted, thank you very much!" She lashed her tail stubbornly. "I'll be a warrior, with or without their faith!" Miserystrike considered dashing off into the river, to cut through WindClan territory, back to her old home, but a wave of guilt and loyalty kept her paws in place. "I... I'm sorry..." she mumbled.

"It's alright. I know that you're going through a hard time right now," he said as he turned away. He didn't want to upset her, he had only meant to reassure her. He felt as though he failed in what he was trying to do, what he couldn't let Miserystrike know that. "Come on; we have more to see."

Miserystrike nuzzled the white tom under his chin once, before pulling away curtly. Her golden ears flattened slightly, whether in embarrassment or uncertainty, she couldn't say. all the she-cat could muster was follow him through the territory, waiting for him to point out a specific scent or smell that she would have to recognize.

Frozencreek led the way toward the border of ThunderClan. The scent was fresh, as if a patrol had just passed through. "That scent is ThunderClan," he stated. He was slightly frustrated, and hoped that his moodyness would stay under control and his cruel side would fade. He liked the new RiverClan warrior a lot, even though he hadn't known her very long. H wasn't sure if she felt the same, but didn't dare say anything about his feelings for her, afraid of rejection.

Miserystrike's eyes sparkled, leaning down to get a good memory of the ThunderClan scent. When she looked satsifed, she stared at Frozencreek with emotionless eyes for a brief moment, unsure of what she was doing or what she was trying to say. It was obvious the tom was having some issues, some very similar to Miserystrike's attitude, but could not put her concerns into words that could be considered "soothing." "I think I got. Where to next?"

The other scents will come to you. As will the borders in time. You'll have to go on a few patrols..." he muttered. He managed to stifle a yawn. "I guess that now we'll return to camp."
