Leafkit knew she wasn't suppose to be here. Only apprentices trained here with their mentors. And she was not an apprentice. She was a kit who really wanted to be an apprentice. And she was what, 4 or 5 moons? She could be an apprentice! Leafkit thought that maybe, just maybe if Bramblestar saw that she was daring enough and brave enough to come out here and train, she could be an apprentice. Ah, the thrill!
She padded along in the shady hollow, sand creeping in her pads. She sighed and hoped someone would come along, otherwise it would be a complete waste! Well....maybe she could do some snopping around...yeah!
She went to the edge of the clearing and jumped onto an old stump. She yowled, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey come to the highstump for a clan meeting!", she mimiked Bramblestar. She hoped to be leader someday...then everyone wouldn't look down on her as a measly kit! Yeah, that sounded good!

"And do those old enough... include you?" A gentle teasing voice arose from nearby. A frosty white warrior with ebony mottles padded next to the highstump and blinked at the kit with his deep blue eyes. "You shouldn't be here, you know that, do you?" Stormfrost meowed, "This is no place for a kit like you, there are foxes and badgers, and other dangerous predators out here."

"I can take them!" Leafkit growled full-heartedly, tail thrashing. "If they get to close to me, they'll regret it! I'll claw them up so bad, they won't know what hit them!" Leafkit mewed, fully meaning it, but not getting the meaning of it.
"You doubt my strength?"she meowed.

“Stormfrost, let the kit have her fun.” Came a playful voice. Thornpaw stepped free of the bracken, her dappled coat catching the sun that snaked through the trees. “Doubt your strength? Never. Cats will one day fear the iron claw of Leafstar!” She laughed, taking her place next to the ivory warrior. Letting his presence, and the sun, warm her body. Such an excellent day! She thought cheerfully. “Hey, you know what? I have an Idea!” She nudged Stormfrost with a mischievous wink. “How about we have our own training session, right here, right now!” She purred in amusement. “What would you like to start with? Hunting or battle training?” She licked Stormfrost encouragingly on the ear then crouched low, demonstrating a stealth crouch. She was and apprentice herself but why not? She took two steps forward, her paws making not a sound. Then she launched herself straight for the kit, soaring over head and landing with easy behind her. She grinned. “You ready?”

"Oh.. alright." The white, rosetted warrior murmured unable to turn down the optimistic apprentice. He mrrwed under his breath and stared at Thornpaw with his deep blue gaze, "If your movement hadn't been so good I would've thought you are just a mouse." He teased, when he really thought she was the most dazzling she-cat he had ever met-- in all of its aspects. He looked at the kit and meowed, "Your choice apprentice to be." He meowed with a humorous tone.

"I. AM. READY!" yowled Leafkit. She unseathed (?) her tiny claws and yowled as she flung herself at Stormfrost with life in her eyes. Her ears were pulled back and fangs showing. She was actully serious.

Stormfrost let out an amused purr, he hadn't expected Leafkit to be so passionate about the training. He moved a step back so the kit wouldn't reach him and commented, "That maybe would've worked if it were a surprise attack. What do you say Thornpaw? I bet she will be a good fighter some day."

Leafkit rose her large eyes up to Stormfrost. Did he really mean that? A good fighter. Her? Really? Of course! Wait....someday? Someday?!
"Hold on a second!" Leafkit yowled on the sand. "Someday?! Someday?! I'm a great fighter RIGHT NOW!" She lashed her tail angrily. She should be an apprentice anyway. Heck, she thought, I should be a warrior, right now!

Swiftcloud crept slowly, making sure not to make a sound and to keep her snow white pelt invisible against the grass. She crouched down, making sure her target was in range before she lept. She made sure to keep her claws sheathed to avoid causing damage. Pinning the yowling kit down, she meowed with a slight laugh in her musical voice, "I think you're a great fighter. But a warrior is always sure to keep her senses alert to everything around them." Her sparkling sky blue eyes held a smile as she delivered a quick lick to Leafkit's cheek before letting her up and sitting beside her, looking at Stormfrost and Thornpaw. "Wouldn't you agree?" She asked with a wink.

"Why! I otta--" she popped right back on her feet and flung herself at Swiftcloud, hardly making a dent. She landed back on the ground, panting. Her body couldn't take this...she was to small....too weak.
She slowly put her weight on her paws and stood up to face Swiftcloud, Thornpaw, and Stormfrost, her chest puffing.

Swiftcloud purred in amusement. "You won't have to wait long. Soon you'll be an apprentice. Do you have your heart set on any particular mentor?" she asked curiously. Her tail wrapped around her paws as she let her tounge brush over her stomach to clear dirt.

Leafkit blinked. "No...not really." she paused. "Why?" she asked, flicking her ears, curious. [[Writers block!!!]

"I was just curious...sometimes Bramblestar lets apprentices request mentors." Changing the subject, she quickly meowed, "I know you'll be a wonderful warrior. Just keep practicing." And with that, she stood to leave.

Leafkit blushed at the compliment. "Thank you," she purred. She shuffled her paws in embarrasment. She looked up and saw Swiftcloud padding away. "Wait!" she yowled. "Swiftcloud!"

Swiftcloud stopped and turned to look at the yowling kit. "Yes?" she asked, seeming surprised. She looked into the young kit's eyes, seeing the future potential bubbling just beneath the surface.
