Hawkclaw decided that his new apprentice should take a break from hunting for today. So he walked out of camp occasionaly looking over his shoulder to see if see was following or keeping up with his pace. Then he said,"I'm going to show you the border that devides us with shadowclan." He looked over his shoulder to see if she heard.

Rabbitpaw nodded, her claws unsheathing and scratching the dirt. Before she stepped forward to stand beside him, she sheathed her claws and smiled.
"Cool," she meowed simply. She stood shoulder to shoulder with him, and turned to smile at him, her warm breath fanning his face.
"Ready?"

"O.k why don't you scent the air and tell me where the scent markers lie," Hawkclaw told Rabbitpaw. He sat down waiting for her reply.

Rabbitpaw lifted her head, opening her mouth slightly to try and catch scents on the roof of her mouth. Her nose wiggled lightly as she sniffed. She padded forward, and then back. Left, and then right. After a few minutes, she pointed her tail at the borderline.
"There?" she asked, seeming uncertain.

Hawkclaw's eyes lit up with determination as he thought that his mentoring will shape his apprentice to be the best warrior in the clan, next to him though. Then he nodded and replied,"Good jod. Then he asked," Do you smell anything else like patrols from either clan or cats from Shadowclan?"

Rabbitpaw repeated her earlier process, waiting a few more moments just to be sure.
"No."
She looked at Hawkclaw, her big green eyes lighting up in the hope she was right.

"Good job!" Hawkclaw didn'ot know what else to do at the boring Shadowclan border so he asked," Do you want to go check the Riverclan border now?"

Rabbitpaw nodded, jumping up enthusiastically. She raced over to where Hawkclaw was standing like a dog heeling at his master, standing again shoulder to shoulder. She had heard stories about how apprentices had been hurt or killed because they wandered away from their mentors, and she didn't want that to happen. However, she didn't realize how her closeness was affecting Hawkclaw. She smiled at him.
"This is so awesome! I can't believe I'm an actual apprentice now...one day I'll have an apprentice of my own!" she purred happily.

"Yes you will," Hawkclaw replied to her eagerness, but half shoked from the way Rabbitpaw charged at him like a dog even though she is a cat." (LOL.... Sit, Stay Roleover)

( lol) Rabbitpaw purred, please at her mentor's praise. She let the sun warm her fur as they walked, glancing around and trying to remember her surroundings so she could have them at a different time. She planned to make Windclan proud. Her tail twitched by itself, for there was no breeze on the hot leafgreen day. Occasionally, Rabbitpaw's fur would brush against Hawkclaw, but she remained oblivious.

Hawkclaw sometimes flintched at how close she was to him. Then he stopped and scented the air. "We are close can you smell anything?"

She sniffed the air, and soon she scrunched up her face.
"Only Riverclan's disgusting scent. But it isn't that fresh, so it must be from their morning patrols."
She raised her chin into the air and closed her eyes in pride.

Hawkclaw glanced over at his apprentice as pride swelled up in him since she was learning so quickly. Then he said again," Correct." Then Hawkclaw batted her paws playfully and joked, "Why do you need me you are already as good as me and better."

She shook her head.
"No, not better. Never better." She smiled at her mentor. Lifting a paw, she licked it softly, cleaning off some of the dirt that had clung to her as they had walked.
"But I'm glad I'm making you proud."

"Of coarse your making me proud, just being alone with you in the forest is making me proud," Hawkclaw stopped as he relized that he was thinking out loud. Then he looked at her, still blushing under his fur.
